Did you marry before entering the US for the first time?
if so, I believe you voided your visa as you were no longer an UNMARRIED SON/DAUGHTER but a MARRIED son/daughter and your current status in the US is not valid.

Yes I married . Would advice I hire an attorney right away or just wait for the counselor response?

Deep trouble so yes a Lawyer but a Lawyer can not change the facts

Consult with immigration lawyer to determine if you have valid status in US.

But, I’ve seen this story before and it usually ends in tears.

1.) I don’t think you’ll ever become a U.S. citizen

2.) Because you voided your visa before arriving you cannot petition your wife and children and they will probably never be able to move to the US as immigrants via you.

Hopefully someone will correct me and tell me I’m wrong but … it doesn’t look good.

That is an understatement.  I am no expert, but the terms misrepresentation, fraud, unlawful presence, removal, and lots of $$$$$$$$$$$ come to mind.  Good luck.

I have seen these a few times, but not I think recently. There was a spate at one time from the Philippines.

Based on those and yes anything can happen I would expect the spousal case to be denied as the OP does not have a basis to petition wife.

Will they do anything about the OP,  maybe not at the top of the list unless he comes to their attention but nothing he can do as far getting any benefits.

I suppose parent could petition again and he could go and interview in many years no doubt need a waiver. Now if someone has gone through that process I have not seen it.

Could you be more specific about your timeline? I imagine it takes time to get an interview for a spouse, did you at least visit the US to activate your visa before getting married or filing for your spouse? Where are you now?

Without entering there would be no basis to file.

My understanding is that the OP married prior to entering the US.
