Nearly 4 Years Later, No Letup in Jan. 6 Prosecutions, Possible Pardons or Not

 

[...] In what Attorney General Merrick Garland describes as the biggest criminal investigation in Department of Justice history, more than 1,560 people have been charged for federal crimes never before used against political protesters, including under a post-Enron obstruction statute overturned by the Supreme Court in June.  At least 1,000 of these defendants have been convicted – either at trial or by accepting plea offers –  with some 650 defendants ordered to serve time in a federal prison.  Sentences range from a few days in jail to up to 22 years as the DOJ seeks "terror enhancements" to tack on additional time.

 

Activity in the J6 investigation accelerated the month before the election.  At least 16 individuals were arrested; home security camera footage obtained by RCI shows the heavily-armed pre-dawn FBI raid of a subject in California on October 17.

Shortly after the election, DOJ officials instructed attorneys working on J6 cases to carry on regardless of the pending change in leadership.  [...]

Ray Epps Announces Resignation From FBI

 

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Federal agent Ray Epps will step down from his role as head of PSYOPS at the end of the Biden administration, the agency said Thursday, ending a distinguished career of covertly manipulating the American people.

Epps said it was important to retire now and preserve his pension before he was forced out by Trump and lost it all.

New Rasmussen Poll Has More Bad News for Liz Cheney About FBI Investigation

 

As we previously reported, a recent interim report from the Committee on House Administration's Subcommittee on Oversight found that the events of Jan. 6 were preventable.  It also dropped some bombshell allegations against former Republican Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney including that she may have tampered with a witness, Cassidy Hutchinson.  The report said "numerous federal laws were likely broken" by Cheney, the Vice Chair of the Jan. 6 Committee and recommended that they be investigated by the FBI.

A majority of voters are in favor of an investigation into her actions on the Jan. 6 Committee.

According to a new Rasmussen poll, 57 percent of likely voters were in favor of the Republican call for an FBI investigation into Cheney.

FBI Turns Itself In For Planting Jan 6 Pipe Bomb To Collect $500,000 Reward From FBI

 

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A Federal Bureau of Investigation spokesperson announced Friday that the bureau had turned itself in for the planting of pipe bomb explosives outside the U.S. Capitol Building on January 6 and collected the $500,000 reward from itself.

The investigation was now officially closed.

Pardon Every Single J6 Political Prisoner – Every Single One

All of the J6 prosecutions are illegitimate, not because the actions of the J6 defendants are all pristine – the vast majority are guilty only of thinking that as part of the People, they had a right to walk through the People's House – but because they were not treated exactly the same way as those politically aligned with the people persecuting them.  And there is no way to undo the taint of the two-tier justice system.  There are reports that President Trump will commute sentences to get people out of prison, then follow up with a pardon "process" to evaluate each conviction.  No, no, no.  Every conviction – every single one, including those by people forced to plead guilty (and they were forced) – is tainted by the actions of the DOJ, the actions of biased judges, and the fact that the venue in DC was manifestly unjust.  No J6 conviction can stand.  Every conviction was unfair and unjust.  [...]
