I know there's nothing to do at this point except wait. I just wanted to see if there's anyone else out there who filed for AOS in Nov. 06 and is still waiting.

I noticed the processing dates on the USCIS website shows that they are processing I-485s from Jan. 13, 07. (Did I get left behind?!)

I also found that all of the couples that have similar timelines have already been approved (except one).

At what point should I request an Infopass appointment to see if everything is Ok?

I'm wondering also if RFEs usually come within the first few months of filing or are they just as likely to come eight months after filing. I'm hoping not to get an RFE of course; I'm just curious, at eight months since filing, is it LIKELY that I would have already gotten an RFE, or is it still a good possiblilty I could get one?

Thanks for any enlightenment/encouragement while I wait.

Unfortunately, the processing dates online are referring to employment-based applications only, so there's no way for us to determine if we are outside the processing times. :( It's unlikely you'll receive an RFE since your case was transferred to the CSC a while ago, but a few people have so it's still possible (though the chances are slim). I've heard the InfoPass appointments are a waste of time but I'll let those who have experienced it weigh in on that question. I guess the answer to when you should make an InfoPass appointment would be based on how much you need to do to feel as if you're being proactive. So sorry you have had to wait so long. (F)

Some people have had good things come from Infopass, but it depends on the case. If you feel like you want to do something and remind them that you exist it could be a good idea.

Good luck to you.

RFE's can come at any time. Usually people get them right away for obvious things that are missing in their packet, but a lot of people get them towards the end as well (we suspect when FBI namechecks have finished) for things like, most recently, the medical report. We got our second RFE right at the end of our AOS journey.

I just noticed our second RFE isn't in our signature....guess I'll put that in there :)

We filed in August 06 and are still waiting. If you are outside processing times, you can request USCIS do a service request which is their in-house check to see the status of your case. We also got our congress people and senators involved and they made inquiries on our behalf - we were stuck in FBI name check for nearly 10 months.

Because we were stuck in FBI name check and got this confirmed over and over again, there was no point in doing an infopass as these things cannot be rushed or expedited and an infopass wouldn't serve any purpose other than to take time out of our day to get there, only to be told to wait till the name check clears. (we have since received an RFE so are almost done).

I'd recommend a service request first, and getting your elected officials involved and see what the hold-up is. Then if you are still concerned, do an infopass.

Just my opinion :)
