Do I have to close my political asylum case?

Hello everyone.

I came to the USA with a B-2 visa. Then I applied for political asylum. My asylum case is pending right now. 1 year ago I met my husband and we got married. We applied for an adjustment of status on the marriage base. Maybe somebody experienced the same situation, please help me. Can I close my asylum case right now or better to wait until I receive notification for an interview or wait until I will get approved? Thank you very much in advance.

Did you use a lawyer to file for naturalization?

Did you  use that same lawyer to file to adjust status?

does ur asylum case pending with USCIS ? if yes, i know almost all lawyers always recommend to have both case on going until u got the GC from marriage before u closed your asylum case. that is " just in case" scenario if the marriage fall apart, u still have asylum case to cover ur situation

You can close asylum once you have i-130 approved. USCIS will not make any decision on your i-485 until you are out of court.

Or if you have not applied for i-485 yet then you can file that directly with court once your i-130 gets approved.

If it is with the Court USCIS have no basis to process an adjustment.
