Thanks Jenny!!! Although he won't care about the turbulence, he and I love to fly so we are normally just happy to be there. Not to mention that neither of us can sleep much on planes. I always feel like I'll 'miss' something - which is normally only that coolish map ticking by the miles.

Yes I'm a nerd. :P

I LOVE that map, although I do get a bit fed up with it when the only things showing on the screen for hours on end are either Godthab (Greenland) or Halifax, Nova Scotia. I'm sick to death of both of those places, and I've never been to either (unsurprisingly)... I'm sure they're both very nice, tho.

Yeah, the dreaded GODTHAB!!!!! Though IIRC, that's about halfway, so once I CROSS it, I usually do a dance of joy (from the seated and upright position ;) ).

I do it too - finally seeing the little plane inch its way past that place is definitely cause for celebration. Seeing it (Godthab, that is, not the little plane) disappear off the screen altogether, even more so.

On my Gatwick-JFK flight this time, there weren't any little seat-back screens... shame, 'cos I was actually looking forward to watching my progress on the little screen on my way over here For Good! Stupid Delta... :(

I feel a bit more sane to know that I'm not the only person who does it!

I'll ask Chas later if he did it today. :D
