If I have SSD only and haven’t filed taxes but using a co-sponsor What do I add as supporting document to my I-864?

Your SS benefit declaration letter.  Download from socialsecurity.gov

An IRS Verification of Nonfiling Letter (VNF) will provide proof from the IRS that there is no record of a filed tax form (1040, 1040A, or 1040EZ) for the year you have requested. A VNF does not provide proof that you were not required to file, only that you did not file.

This letter and the statement we get yearly from SS telling us the benefit amount for the upcoming year

your yearly benefit letter (or as pushbrk states download it from SS site) has your monthly benefit amount minus medicare / times 12 gives u yearly SSD

to satisfy the IRS part,  get the SS letter saying there is no record of filing taxes in their system

that's what u need or the embassy will ask for tax returns

I have SSDI, but I still file taxes. I get 25k from the govt. and have an inherited IRA account containing 50k, and my saving account has 70k. Do I need a co-sponsor? This is my most concerning thing moving forward.

No thread jack.

VNF as described above is NOT NEEDED.  Don't 'know where this idea comes from, but it's nonsense.

Above is false and misleading.  You don't need to minus anything from your declaration letter and you DO NOT NEED ANYTHING FROM THE IRS.  NADA, NOTHING. (as evidence you did not file a tax return)

You must carefully read the instructions and follow them, as they apply to your situation.  If you have a specific question, ask it.

Download and become an A Student of the I-864 instructions.  That's where you see what to include in each situation.

Not also, that Visajourney is a DO it YOURSELF site, with emphasis on the DO and the YOURSELF.  We cannot spoon feed you information.  Only you know your specific circumstances.  Once you have done YOUr homework, you'll be able to ask more specific questions about what you might not understand.

Would love to help but you asked, "What do I add for supporting documents."  That is not specific.  The answer is in the instructions.  After you read the carefully, you'll be able to ask about something specific you don't understand.  At this point, with this information, all anybody can do is quote those instructions to you.

Im not required to file taxes, get SSDI. I know my co sponsor would add their tax transcript etc. do I just add the yearly statement with form I-864 since I do not file taxes or do I need a letter from SSA saying I’m not required to file?
