Appointment Notification?

It may seem like a simple question.....but.....How do you receive notification of the Embassy appointment from the NVC for a CR2 visa application???

By Phone? or by Letter? Do you get any input as to when the appointment will be? We are Ukraine filers from January and we are now waiting for or appointment.

The Embassy gave us permission to proceed with the Medical exam even though the application for IV has not been transferred. They told us we needed our case number for the physical and that if a year passed before our visa interview we would need to take anoher physical. Does this qualify as an additional shortcut?

You have to call the US State Department at 202.663.1225 to see if they have an interview date for you. Otherwise, you and your spouse will receive packet 4 in the mail with the date.

An additional shortcut would be one that shortens the timeline. Considering that there typically is a sufficient gap time between assignment of case number or even interview notification and the actual interview date to get the medical done, you do not appear to be actually shortening the timeline

You are right. I can see it would not qalify. It does help emotionally though.

According to the Kyiv website that you schedule the interview by calling the call center. If that is the case, then I would think you can select from available times.
