Giving up k1 to apply for cr1

Hey guys

I've been in the k1 process for a while but it won't be possible to quit my job after the whole thing is done, and I don't want to be unemployed in the US for so long. My fiancee and I are thinking of withdrawing and getting married when I go visit him in the us next month, so we can apply for the cr1.

I will come back to my country and plan on visiting again in the summer, after we apply for the cr1. Would this impact my entry in the country next time I go?

What would be the best way not to be accused of fraud or anything like that? I just want to be able to visit him while we wait for this process to be done since my work schedule is felxible, and his is not.

Ps: I'm not in a hurry to move to the US but I would like to see him every couple of months or so, would that be difficult?

Thank you

since there is immigrant intent on your part to come to USA ,  CBP may turn u back at the POE

they may / they may not

but if u r not allowed to enter US to visit , your husband can  visit in Brazil

to interview for tourist visa,  best to have a job (u do) , own property,  have money to pay for the trip

Good luck to u

Thank you for the answer. My fiancee can't quit his job and won't have available vacation days for a while.

I already have a tourist visa, and no intentions of overstaying my visit! So basically it would just be trial and error at this point?

There's a whole pinned mega thread on visiting during the process.

If you have a history of visiting and leaving, I would expect no problems continuing that practice.  When you enter for the marriage, don't raise a red flag by changing your reason for visiting, to "getting married".  Just give a generic but truthful answer.  It's not illegal to marry and leave, and that's what you're doing.

Yep, I've been to that thread! my only concern is if it would be a problem to get married while on a tourist visa! I mean, if it could mess up my future entries when I say I'm visiting my husband. But now it's much clearer, thank you!

If what you've been saying upon entry is still true, keep saying it.

Check the threads below for reports from others (including me) who married in the US while on tourist status, visited again afterwards, then successfully pursued CR1/IR1 visa --
