I-130 accepted but case closed; what to do? [split topic]

My I-130 is approved, I checked status a few day ago it says: case closed. What should I do now? Also I received NOTICE OF ACTION saying:

The above petition has been approved. However, you indicated on the petition that the beneficiary intends to apply for an immigrant visa abroad at a U.S.
Embassy or a U.S. Consulate and will also apply for adjustment of status in the United States. Since you have indicated both options, USCIS has retained
the petition.
If the beneficiary intends to apply for adjustment of status in the United States, they should submit a copy of this notice, along with a Form I-485,
Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status. They can obtain Form I-485 from the USCIS website at www.uscis.gov, by contacting the
USCIS National Customer Service Center (NCSC) at 1-800-375-5283, or by visiting the local USCIS field office. Filing address information can be found
on the USCIS website at www.uscis.gov.
If the beneficiary decides to apply for an immigrant visa outside the United States based on this petition, you should file Form I-824, Application for Action
on an Approved Application or Petition, to request that we send the petition to the U.S. Department of State National Visa Center (NVC).
The NVC processes all approved immigrant visa petitions that require consular action. The NVC also determines which consular post is the appropriate
consulate to complete visa processing. It will then forward the approved petition to that consulate.
The NVC will contact the beneficiary of this petition with further information about immigrant visa processing steps.

The above was split from an old thread in another forum.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

They’re saying you checked both boxes where it should have been one or the other. If the mistake was indeed on your part, you must file I-824, pay the fee and wait for it to be processed before anything else can happen. You case won’t move forward until I-824 is processed. It’s a common mistake we see at least a few times a month here on VJ.

Not until OP resolves the issue with I-824. They checked two boxes - adjustment of status in the US AND NVC processing. USCIS will retain the petition until I-824 is filed and processed for the case to be sent to NVC

Thank you LACHAPELL0223

I made typographical error on my application, I checked both options but after a while I sent them correction, maybe USCIS did not review it.

Then after 2 months the application was approved  I talked on phone with Immigration Officer, I don't know if she corrected my mistake while we were talking on phone, she said I should wait another 1.5 month for their respond

Thank you so much for all the information

My I-130 was approved on 11/16/2022, I checked the status of my case a few day ago it says: case closed, what does it mean?  I made typographical mistake on my application  (Part 4, checked 61a instead of 62a) and I sent correction twice, before approval my application and after. File the I-824.  Your mistake has likely delayed your reunion about a year.
