I’m petitioning my wife and toddler who live in Mexico. We’re waiting for their I-130 to get approved. She has a teenager who was born in the US. The teenager lives in the US with my wife’s grandma who has a legal power but he is receiving help for the government because he is autistic. Are we going to have any kind of problems because of this?  My wife is not receiving any money but her grandma. Please let me know. Thank you everybody

If the father is USC and working to pay into SS ,the child should be getting SSI and that is not government assistance

This would include medicare

and father should be paying child support

Children with disabilities may be eligible for monthly SSI payments from Social Security.
