ok I'm sure that I'm just overanxious but I haven't gotten the interview letter yet. When I search for how long it took for people to get the letter I only found K visas, which would have come from Montreal. Will our letter come from Montreal or NVC? I'm getting worried cause I'm going out into the field day after tomorrow and my husband is already out, neither of us will be back till just a few days before the interview. Any idea where I should call to see if the letter has been sent out? Worse case scenario, if the letter isn't here when we get back, has anyone gotten an interview appt. letter faxed to them?

I would suggest contacting Montreal either via email or phone and ask them to send an email reply stating that an interview is scheduled for "Date/Time". So if the interview letter still has not made it to you, you can use the email from the consulate to show security that you have not received an appointment letter in the mail.

Hopefully its on its way

Hi,

I've been out of the country, so I am not sure if I've received the IR1 interview letter yet. But I remember NVC telling me that they are the ones who will mail the letter out to the petitioner and beneficiary. Like Lance's suggestion, perhaps you can also email NVC for a confirmation of the interview date.

Take care!

For the CR interview the letter came to me from NVC and came to my husbands in the US (designated agent). When I asked for my reschedule the interview letter came from Montreal and was sent to my address in Canada. The info they supply in the package from NVC was different from the info from Montreal. Basically, in terms that Montreal specified that my passport had to be valid for 6 months (didn't say this on the NVC letter) and to bring current evidence of support. I think I got the letter form NVC within a week of date on the letter. From the consulate it took almost 2 weeks to arrive.
