I824 processing time

Hey all,

I filled petition I130 in September 2021, and got approval letter after 8 months and letter saying file I824 (Action on approved application) for transferring to NVC. Which I submitted in September 2022 and received notification about application received at PSC. After 1 month in October I received another letter notifying that my case transferred to another service center (TSC) due to balancing load on service centers.

Anyone know how long will it take to complete the process?

You can browse this link to find appropriate direct filling address https://www.uscis.gov/uscis-lockbox-filing-locations-chart

@Rabia Ahsan

I have question about Form i824 under part 4 "Applicant's Statement", who is the applicant on this section? (Is that my parent or me "Petitioner" filling this application?).

I have already submitted the i824 with my parent as applicant under Part 4 but need to confirm if I filled correctly or I need to go back and correct this?

Your advise will be very helpful...

I am petitioner and filled a 1-30 for my parent, due to one mistake (In part 4. filled both 61.a & b and 62.a, b & c) my case got approved on May 2022 but I have been asked for the I-824.

I believe that section has to be filled out by you, the petitioner. I-130 is your petition, your filing I-824 to ask for your petition to be forwarded to NVC

Thanks powerpuff,

I am so doubtful on this part, because even i824 instructions file not explaining anything about this.
confusing part is that in 1st part asking for who is filling this form and there are 2 options (1. Applicant 2. Petitioner).
Anyone gone through this process, can you confirm this before it's too late!!

But part 4 is just asking if you filled out out yourself and understood everything or if you used a preparer/interpreter. If you’re filling out the form, I don’t see how your parents info goes there. Did you also sign that section?

I was not sure and after consulting with someone they advised me that this portion should be filled out by my parent and signed. I filled part 5 and 6 as my information as a interpreter and form filler.

Thanks powerpuff I will try calling USCIS and doublecheck on this.

Unfortunately, you’ve made a mistake. It should be you. Remember, the beneficiary does not fill out this form, only you do on their behalf. So on part 4, it is your statement, contact info, declaration and certification must be provided together with your signature.

GeeMD, yeah recently I realized about this big mess, luckily my case is still with TSC and no update yet since I filled on 9/9/2022. Any suggestions how to correct this?

I was told by USCIS support to send a letter with all details along with new form I-824
