My fiance has bad vision in his left eye from a soccar injury. is there a point where this might prevent him from getting a drivers license? How bad does vision have to be before they say no license for you. What is legally blind, anyway?

What are the rules for adults learning how to drive, I mean, practicing? Do they need learner's permit like the teenagers?

My dad passed the vision test with cataracts in both eyes. My prescription is -8.5 to -8.75 in both eyes with my left eye adjusted to -10 in one spot for astigmatism and I can pass the vision test no problem. If I can pass it with my terrible vision...

I am legally blind (mine is 20/400 or worse) in my left eye (since birth). It is uncorrectable. I have had a drivers license in 6 states over the years and never had any problems. One time I did have to get a doctor to fill out a form that said I was able to drive.

If his other eye is fine, it's not a problem... you don't have to have perfect binocular vision to be able to drive - just sight!

I am completely blind in my right eye and I remember in Hawaii at least the minimum requirements were 20/30 corrected vision in one eye - don't know if it's true for all states.
