So... I'd still like to know how these things work. Apparently it's something to do with this guy:  https://www.nytimes.com/2023/02/13/world/asia/china-spy-balloon.html An example of a scientist/inventor wanting to conduct experiments and the government using it for some other purpose?

 

Also, apparently we missed the object the first time with a missile over Lake Huron so umm, where did that land? I saw a video of potentially that object - it looked like a type of drone to me, but still the guys in the jets were very confused as to what they were looking at.

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
