Congrats to everyone successfully getting their citizenship!!

 

Still waiting on any news from the Orlando office - have been patiently waiting out the countdown, and today shows 'case is taking longer than expected to process'. No news is good news, right? 

 

Currently experiencing multiple health problems all at once and having trouble accessing quality health care here (truly got spoiled in the UK with such great medical care) - would really like to travel back for a bit just to have support and help from my family, but at this point seems a bad idea to book non-refundable travel. Really hoping for an interview date soon so we can finally get this over with and I can be with them again!

Was just curious about my application status, login to my USCIS account and saw the status changed to "Interview Was Scheduled"!!  Interview date is on May 23, 11:10AM!

Update on my slow Orlando case! Had my interview today and got approved, yay! Unfortunately their computer system was down so I wasn't able to be sworn in today or have anything approved electronically - hopefully the letter with a swearing-in date will come fast and not keep me waiting too much longer. So close to the end of this process!

It seems to be up to date (via the 'Timeline' link)! 

 

No online updates yet, my file got put in a cardboard box on the floor along with a bunch of others for final approval. Hoping someone goes through it asap! I was told it could take a couple of weeks or up to 4 months to get the ceremony letter.. very frustrating that they would have otherwise had me swear in right there! Missing my family & friends a lot but can't plan a trip until I have the new passport in hand.

Finally getting interview both on my I-751 and N-400! San Jose CA office took forever but so glad I am getting interviewed soon!

I am now studying the 100 questions for the civics test. Other than that, could you kindly share the documents needed to bring and preparations to do?

Also if you have watched any guide in youtube, could anyone send any links? Much appreciate you all.

Jointly filed tax return transcripts,  passports, GC, updated bonafide marriage evidence. Make sure to bring the spouse.

FINALLY GOT MY CITIZENSHIP. Now working on passport and hopefully that’s it for paperworks, (for me)

 

one more thing to work on is starting a petition for permanent resident for my parents. I heard that when they are already here in the US, it’s faster to process. Is that true? Because they have tourist visa and I really need help with my kids.

They cannot enter the US as visitors with the intent to stay and adjust status.  That is visa fraud.  You can, however, submit I-130s for them to immigrate via IR-5 visas.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Saw online that my N-400 interview is scheduled in Detroit for 05/29/24 in the am! Woo woo! Getting somewhere! No comment/update on the I-751.

Oath ceremony completed (Detroit): 06/17/24

N-400 Interview completed 05/29/2024 (Detroit): N-400 approved; I-751 approved; received notice that Oath Ceremony scheduled for 06/17/2024 (Detroit)

NOA updated online 04/18/24 for N-400: Interview scheduled for 05/29/24

NOA received 03/04/24 confirming N-400 application and reuse of biometrics

Biometrics being reused for N-400: Notification online 02/28/024

N-400 Application Accepted: 02/15/2024; Notified by text 02/20/2024

I-751 Amendment Request of Jointly Filed I-751 to Waiver: Delivered 09/09/2023 with hard copy of docs; wasn't able to upload docs till 01/30/2024 due to glitch in their system

Notice Green Card Extended for 48 months: 03/11/2023

I-751 Petition To Remove Conditions on Residence (Jointly Filed)Application Accepted: 03/06/2023; Biometrics being reused

Conditional Green Card: granted 05/14/2021
