Choosing a US embassy

Hi everyone and thanks in advance for sharing,

 

My fiance lives in Iran, and as you may know there is no US embassy there.  The question is how can I find a US embassy in one of the neighboring countries with the lowest workload hoping to get an earlier interview. 

 

We are planning on marring via Utah Zoom Marriage before applying obviously.

Thank you!  Is there somewhere I could find out the timeline from when the documents are sent to these embassies until an interview is taken place?

These, you cannot choose.  USCIS will assign your I-130 to one of these based on their workload and internal procedures.

Senior Master Sergeant, US Air Force- Retired (after 20+ years)- Missile Systems Maintenance & Titan 2 ICBM Launch Crew Duty (200+ Alert tours)

Registered Nurse- Retired- I practiced in the areas of Labor & Delivery, Home Health, Adolescent Psych, & Adult Psych.

IT Professional- Retired- Web Site Design, Hardware Maintenance, Compound Pharmacy Software Trainer, On-site go live support, Database Manager, App Designer.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Unfortunately (but maybe fortunately for you) , the process isn’t that fast. The first step (filing the petition) can take up to one year. Then the file goes to NVC where your spouse applies for the visa. At this stage, you will have to provide documentation showing you plan to live and work in the US. When do you plan on completing your studies? 
several applicants from Iran have had issues with extended AP after the interview. I would plan for 2-3 years after filing I-130 before your partner will be able to move to the US.

Thank you for your feedback.  I am attending an American school overseas and will be back to do my clinical rotations in the US next year, so  domicile should not be an issue.  AP is more often for males applying for US VISA, I am not sure if females would go through AP or not.  As you said, the process is long, but when you love someone it worth every minute of it.

After San Bernardino they 100 percent can go through AP.

Everyone goes through AP,  regardless of gender. It can be longer depending on the country.
