Hi everyone,

I am filing out the I130. I am stuck on the part 4 Items 61.a-62.c. My husband lives in Morocco. I have seen conflicting reports on what to fill out. I have been told to leave it blank since my husband is from Morocco he is not eligible for adjustment of status. I have also been told to just fill out section 62.a since he will be filing from Morocco. Which one is correct? Do I leave this section blank? OR do I fill out just 62.a? For Reference I have included a screen shot of the form that I am confused about. Thank you so much! This community is so helpful!

This form has dual purpose

it is also used when the person is in the US and AOS here after a K1 visa

Leave it blank/  he is not adjusting here

He will interview for spouse visa in Casablanca

it is always best to pull up the I 130 instructions and follow them

it will cost u a huge fee to correct it later if u fill out a US office/  one VJ  member did it wrong and is now paying the price / its over $500 to correct it

Fill in 62.a-c. Failure to do could result in the I-130 being stuck at USCIS.    I would put "N/A" in 61.a-b.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

This is why I am confused. 2 people saying 2 different things. It makes more sense to fill out 62a-c and list Casablanca Morocco as the location. Is there any harm that can come if I fill it out? It seems better to fill that section out as opposed to not fill it out. Has anyone gotten their visa stuck from not filling it out?

I agree It makes more sense to me to fill it out. What would be an instance to leave them both blank?

Leaving them blank will delay your process by a year +:

If you leave them both blank, USCIS will place the I-130 on hold, then it will require an I-824 to move it to the correct location.  This would cause a delay of more than a year.

i concentrated on the US office

u need to put Morocco in C

Current cost to correct it with I 824 is $465 so put Morocco as crazy cat says
