Wouldn't the renewal of a 10 YR GC use the I90?  The I90 fee is actually going down currently at $540 going to $465.

the book (over 500 pages of the registry ) makes it unclear / its quite a read as there will be additional forms to fill out now when before we just sent in a request   From the other December 2022 read,  it will not be necessary to file I 90 if the immigrant files for naturalization 6 months before the 10 year card expires

but i am reading the federal registry again as the description of some forms  and fees are strange

I 751 says  "to move conditions and in earlier text in the registry calls 10 year green card (conditional LPR)

and I 90 says to "replace permanent card"

in it it said there would be a change in the way 10 year green card was renewed and mentioned the I 751 was a possibility

BUT i found this"from December 2022

This update (PDF, 307.54 KB) is expected to help naturalization applicants who experience longer processing times, because they will receive an extension of lawful permanent resident (LPR) status and may not need to file Form I-90, Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card (Green Card). LPRs who properly file Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, may receive this extension without regard to whether they filed Form I-90. USCIS will update the language on Form N-400 receipt notices to extend Green Cards for up to 24 months for these applicants. The receipt notice can be presented with the expired Green Card as evidence of continued status as well as identity and employment authorization under List A of Employment Eligibility Verification (Form I-9), if presented before the expiration of the 24-month extension period provided in the notice.

The raise was proposed under the Trump administration before. No media cared.

The raise is long overdue imo tho it's quite a big jump.

This is true, but a judge blocked it. What are the odds that happens again?

I guess until it happens it isn't worth stressing about too much.

I would like see this increase on Trump administration, i am pretty sure that the media would talk about that abuse every day, but it is in this administration they dont talk. Really what this administration is doing is getting money from people who pay to hire more officer to give free green cards to the illegal who are get in the country from the open borde,

This is not the thread to discuss the political aspect, there is a thread on VJ for political things!

the AOS filling I 485,  I 130, and I 765 will cost $2820 instead of $1225

and ROC is going up to $1195

So,  all K1 petitions will face a huge increase in fees

the Federal Register/ Vol 88 No2 Has list of all new fees and changes in some documents needed to process petitions

Legal immigrants, are made to pay for Illegals. Never fails, you come the front door, you pay.

If u want to post your opinion to USCIS about the fee changes ,  hit the site i posted and the yellow box to the right to let them know your thoughts (till March 6, 2023)

but understand all the changes

Read thru the REAL proposal

like the forms I-129 will be split into different classes like K1 and worker / hope this is a help as some questions on forms don't seem to fit the class we apply for

AND things like this

  • USCIS will impose an additional $600 fee on all Form I-129 and Form I-140 petitions, which are the employment-based immigration forms used to sponsor foreign nationals for temporary and permanent employment. This fee is above and beyond the filing fee increases associated with these forms and will be used to fund the USCIS asylum program.

And remember that the I-129 and the I-129F are completely different forms for entirely different visas.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Quite low, I think; IIRC the previous proposed fee changes were blocked due to not following proper procedures, not due to anything inherently wrong with the fee structure.
