I think people are saying if you go down this path you should NOT bring these pictures, however- they could still find out.

when I went through this process many years ago we did not know that it may be an issue. In our case, it was not an issue and we were issues the visa.

have you ever thought of doing a spousal visa

Yes we thought about it. But now we’re on a K1 visa so we’re just gonna get married when we can. I don’t wanna risk to be denied because of a traditional wedding.

1st of all USCIS says take photo s to the interview but never has any member said CO looked at them

CO's have even asked for further documentation to be sent in (221g) when the immigrant had it at the interview but the officer wouldn't look at it

Next depending on the country like ours,  i had an engagement party / it was just ladies of the family

Any engagement party in countries from nations in Africa often is viewed as wedding celebration after the actual marriage especially if the couple is dressed in "look alike outfits"

as the actual marriage is often done by signing a contract

so, best to file the paperwork to register the marriage and go CR 1

BTW  years ago a K1 person was refused entry as the CBP officer noticed her ring finger was not tan like the rest of her hand

You may not be legally married but your "religious marriage" is enough to equal common law marriage which a handful of States still allow.  Therefore you would be considered married and your k1 would be denied.

A religious wedding is not something legal tho. I mean for the law I wouldn’t be married. I feel like the two things don’t collide

Every K1 who got rejected for it says that exact same thing.

Year after year new ones roll through with the same story.

You are strongly advised to drop this idea.

I never said I’m gonna do it. I was just asking a question. But we’re gonna call and ask to USCIS so we can be sure. That doesn’t hurt nobody.

You seem pretty set, despite the feedback you’ve received  in this thread from senior members.

Feel free to call, but USCIS does not give out that type of advice.

In the end, it’s entirely up to you.

I’m not set at all, this is a website to ask questions and I was just trying to understand if this was possible or not. I know it’s risky and honestly I don’t wanna go down this path.
If USCIS will answer I don’t know, if they do then better for us.

Think of it this way... if you were to have a religious ceremony, would you be free to have a religious ceremony with anyone else? I assume the answer is no.

The K-1 requires you are "free to marry" therefore, since you would not be free to marry, you would not be eligible for the K1 visa.

Simply put, don't do it.
