Do we need a new medical examination and police certificate?

Good day VJ family!

Please, I need your help and expertise for my brother. He is an F1 (unmarried child over 21) and we just got the email from the embassy to schedule his appointment in Ghana. We had scheduled his appointment back in October - the application was originally for multiple siblings all IR2 so we included him his as well. At the interview, he was told to wait for his visa to become current. He did the medical examination and police report back in October for the appointment we scheduled back then. Since it's less than 6 months, does he have to do another medical exam and police certificate? I am thinking we can reuse them. He has the police certificate with him, but would the embassy know to look for a medical exam from November?

Any thoughts are appreciated!

@Rossy2468: he was DQ Aug 2020 and we got the email this last Wednesday.

@Bebe1235: no, I have not been able to schedule it yet. The systems says case ID not found so I am working with traveldocs suppport to figure that out. *sigh*

The  following is what is needed for F-1 as it is a non immigrant visa (no medical or criminal reports)

  • Passport valid for travel to the United States - Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your period of stay in the United States.
  • Nonimmigrant Visa Application, Form DS-160 confirmation page
    • Learn more about completing the DS-160
    • You must complete the online Form DS-160 visa application
    • Print the application confirmation page to bring to your interview
  •  Photo - You will upload your photo while completing the online Form DS-160.
  • Application fee payment receipt
  • Form I-20 - UTRGV will send you a SEVIS-generated Form I-20 once you have already submitted all the required documentation.  You and your DSO will sign the Form I-20. If you are bringing dependents, each person receives an individual Form I-20.
  • The SEVIS I-901 fee receipt

Op is referring to family preference category F1, and not F1 student visa.

+When is the new interview date?

+What is the priority date?

+Medical exam is generally valid for 6 months. And issued visas expire 6 months after the medical exam (not 6 months from when they are issued). So as you can tell depending on the interview date and when visa is issued, the visa could expire right away (or could be so close he might not have enough time to prepare before living GH) and medical will have to be redone anyways for a new visa to be re-issued.
