I sent in my K1 application on October 11, 2022. NOA1 on the letter we received and on the case tracker website is October 14. But I just made an account on uscis and added my case and it says case received on October 18. Why is the date different? Which one is my actual NOA1? I'm confused. Thanks!

I would rely on the actual paper NOA1.

Thanks for the reply! I was reading through some old threads on here about this and they made me even more confused lol. Apparently some say that NOA1 is the received date which would be the 14th in my case and that the rest is just when it was entered in the system? Anyone know more info about this? Not that it matters that much, but I'm curious

received date is what is used for inquiries etc so I'd go by that. I don't think the 'notice' date is used for anything (at least that we see)

Notice date and received dates are different, but the difference means very little.  It isn't worth worrying about it.  Just sit back, stay busy, and know that each day is a little closer to the next milestone in this long process.

Well, now I'm even more confused. Here are the dates that are shown to me. uscis tracker: 14, uscis account: 18. noa1 letter "received" says 14, noa1 letter notice says 19. So I have two different "received" dates haha. One on the letter and one on the account. I'm so confused 😭😂 What is everyone else using to calculate theirs?

You're right, it doesn't matter. It's just that the wait is so long without any new info that i'm just focusing on this now 😂

I'm stumped. My received date is the same on everything with notice date 3 days later. Sorry 😭

I actually just checked and I'm wrong. The date on my letter is October 19, I was remembering wrong. So I guess NOA1 is October 18?

I hate when I remember wrong! LOL  but it happens

and u sent it 10//11

USCIS got it 10/14

A little speculation here for some who file I 130 online v paper filing

but online filing (in computer ) with a credit or debit card that can be instant payment might cause same date on filing and NOA1

paper filing (your date) and/or paper check or money order that would go snail mail would cause different dates

any petition will not be processed till fee is paid

BTW the new fee for I 130 will be slightly higher if paper filed v online

Just for clarity, some NOA1 dates do seem to fluctuate according to my research. Not by much - a few days here and there, but I keep seeing this on many cases again and again.

I'd wager that USCIS is forward-updating cases by a hair to decrease the number of "out-of-processing-times" inquiries a bit.

I haven't seen any case abuse this by more than a week though.
