Hi! I have to submit a police clearance certificates for every country I have lived in for more than 6 months for my k1 visa.  I lived in Illinois for 2 years before moving back to my country. Does anyone how I can apply for the police certificate from Pakistan? Every website that I have found requires either mail in finger prints or a visit to us post offices. Thank you in advance!

You likely won’t don’t need a police certificate for Illinois. The FBI will investigate you and provide the consulate a report.

Thanks for your reply. That’s what I think but my case is complicated and I wanna be extra cautious

If you have a criminal record in the U.S., you might be asked to get records from the relevant police jurisdictions. Afaik you cannot get ahead of this issue until the consulate issues the RFE.

If your case is complicated because of criminal history then lower your expectations.

As mentioned above, you do not need police certificates from the US, unless you are asked for court records at your visa interview.  The consulate will not accept US background check documents you proactively provide anyway.  They will do the US security check themselves.

As for police certificates from Pakistan, they are not required for visa processing, as the US government does not consider them reliable.  It says so on the Department of State website -- https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/Pakistan.html

I do not have criminal history in the United States. However, I did have to withdraw my application for entry on my last visit which makes my case complicated. I’m aware of the low chances but my fiancé and I still want to go through all the options

Since it wasn’t an expedited removal you are fine if you don’t attempt to visit again. Wait for your K-1 visa.  Marry within two weeks of POE. File I-485 before day 30.
