Hello we filed our I-751 and got a notice in the mail (797C) that they are going to use the biometrics from before. I’ve seen with other cases people posting that they have gotten the fee and got 48 month extensions. Our case is with LIN. Am I supposed to get an extension in the mail for 48 months after them sending they received our case?  Aren’t the biometric fees supposed to be waived? I’m a little concerned that all I’ve gotten is that they received my petition and didn’t waive the biometric fee with no indication of extension.

I think you're possibly a bit confused. The fee for biometrics is never waived (I believe you can apply for some fee waivers due to financial hardship but doubt that applies here), but many people receive a biometrics reuse notice, after their initial NOA. However, it is still possible you will receive a biometrics appointment letter - there is virtually no consistency in any USCIS processes as it relates to I-751.

It says on their website that biometric fees are non-refundable regardless if they took fingerprints or not. We all still need to pay it because it is required.

I sent my application to Arizona on Saturday and it got there on Wednesday night.  I sent it with priority mail USPS. It says the third day that it is available for pick up and no other updates. Did anybody had the same experience?

My tracking on Wednesday said available for pickup in AZ around 6:30pm but changed to delivered after 10:00pm. I got the NOA text this morning.

@Beruang101 the biometric fees usually are not waived for I-751, unless you're over certain age. Have you included the fees wirh your petition?

Yes I included both fees and it was already charged to my credit card for $680

Ah ok so do people usually get their extensions after USCIS say that they will use the fingerprints from before?

Is it possible to get an RFE after the first NOA? Or does receiving the 48-month extension means no RFE is needed?

Sent 2/4

Received 2/6

Check went through 2/22

Received NOA 2/25

It is possible. NOA means that they received it at processing it. They might ask you for additional documents in the future.
