Update

My I-751 status was changed today to: “Case was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken”

I don’t know if that means anything, but I wanted to share the update.

That's good news. Meaning you don't have to go to biometrics appointment.

My approx timeline was:

Filed Nov 2021

Biometrics reused April 2022

Case Approved August 2023

So there may be a delay between biometrics and next steps.

I also got the "Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken" ,either someone is working those cases or its just a random update. Most likely random since they all happened at the same time, but if it's random why only a subset of the cases as per casestatusext? November 2022 filer

Hopefully not random. Looks like USCIS is looking into this batch of cases. Usually it works in "waives". When they'll start approving cases / sending RFEs, you'll see many people getting updates at the same time. That's the reason why people are grouped by months and years in VisaJourney threads. Because you will be processed at similar times 😊 Of course, there will be outliers - somebody getting decision months before everybody else, or somebody who's case is dragging.

Just recieved my notice for the N400 interview which I apllied in March 2024. So this is going to be another case where N400 is approved before I-751.

It cannot be. I-751 must be approved for N-400 to be approved. If you filed I-751 jointly, your US citizen spouse must come with you. There's a great chance USCIS will run interviews for both I-751 and N-400. If your spouse is not there, here is what may happen:

My status changed to 'Fingerprints taken' on Friday (10/4) and to 'New card is being produced' today. Does this mean my ROC got approved? I didn't apply for citizenship, and didn't get an interview invitation. I did reach out to my congressman in mid-August and got this response but maybe it helped: U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) records confirm that your constituent’s case is pending at the Texas Service Center (TSC). There is currently a 31 Months processing time for Form I-751 cases that are received at TSC. Your constituent’s case was received at this center on February 27, 2023. Please note that estimated processing times are processing goals and not a guarantee that applications will be processed within the estimated timeframe.

2023-02-20: Mailed package to Phoenix Lockbox with UPS Ground

2023-02-27: Package was delivered

2023-03-02: Received text that case was received with SRC case #

2023-03-03: Money order was cashed

2023-03-09: Received 48 months extension letter in mail

2023-05-20: Greencard expired

2024-10-04: Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken

2024-10-07: New Card Is Being Produced

Yes, this means your I-751 was approved. Funny enough, you may get another status in few hours / days saying your petition was approved. This is what exactly happened to me. I got message about card being produced before receiving the message my case was approved. Of course, in reality in happens in different order.

If you have USPS Informed Delivery, you should be able to track GC few days earlier than tracking number would appear in USCIS status.

Watch for mail titled "USCIS- Lees Summit Production Facility" in USPS Informed Delivery.

My I-751 has been approved today. The status changed to “new card is being produced”, but my N-400 interview is in 22 days. I guess that’s good!
