Thanks for opening my eyes smoke20. Adding to this topic is giving me a headache. All I am hearing is Richard Gere from "Officer and A Gentleman", saying over and over in my head, "$5 cheap cheap". I've got to go yell at the maid for a while for not using enough starch on my shirts. The butler needs a little slapping around also. Kudos!

wow, what a funny guy!! maybe you should take your comedy act on the road. you could use the stage name Richard Cranium.

Hmmm....thanks for the good advice. Kool! :D

aahh whats wrong joe. you don't want to sling muck, jabs & insults w/ someone equipped to do so?

thanks for playing i'm going to the gym...see you later.

I have no problem with it. The only reason why you feel compelled to defend the OP is because your SO is Filipino also. Would you be so protective if the OP were of another ethnic background? Call me a racist if you wish. I know it's sitting on the tip of your tongue ready to call all of us one you do not like or agree with. ;)

no joe i don't think you're a racist. i just don't like the uncalled for attacks on people. even if they're made injest....no hard feelings.. i just wanted to step up for asianbeauty. and, yes i do feel a little bias coz she is a filipina

No problem with that. Respectable. But I don't know if you notice it, she does know how to play defense, as well as, offense. She's capable of handling herself just fine. I'll give credit where it is due. ;)

I highlighted my favorite part: :P

This is never ending. Some of you like to bash, LOL, ok, have fun! How helpful they are, LOL

I didn’t mean to say to sue everyone who are rude, or sue every rude ppl that I will encounter, rude people are everywhere, the smart ones will just have to ignore them, stay away. I meant to say this person will be rude all the time when he sees me, for example calling names, saying things that are bad,’’filipinas are gold diggers’, that hurts, I said I can excuse few times what if he/she does that so often???. Yes, I am well-off in the Philippines, but I wont be rich in America, hiring housekeepers is not possible for me there. I heard from some other people who are rich, some of the sales clerks give them that look, I am not stupid to sue them because they are not nice, that’s a waste of time. I meant to say, I wont be accepted eating at a restaurant because I am asian and that because I am from the poor country even though I can afford to eat there. I don’t mean to say I will sue them when they are not being nice, so I can have free money; just that they will discriminate me because I am asian and when they discriminate me for being asian, can I sue them?, (racial discrimination). Thank you to those who told me that.

ggeezz, can't stand not getting the last snippy-smart a$$ word in? why can't people just leave her alone. go pick on your dog or something.

and you just cant stand not to let ppl speak if they want to? did i appoint you as my mommy? i dont think so.. therefore if you dont like what im saying, dont read it. easy as that :)

no, i'm not your mommy or daddy. i just don't understand why you fell the need to be judgemental & crappy to everyone. do you feel you're lacking in some way? were you not given enough attention when you were a child? or is it just a personality flaw?........notice i didn't single you or anyone else out in any of my comments?

I was answeing you as you seem to feel you are the ONLY one allowed to continue to comment.

maybe your thriving for attention, not getting enough at home? and you singled me out in THIS last comment you just made. so who is the judemental one now?

and i wasnt being judgemental or crappy to her, i was stating exactly what she wrote in her OP. nothing i said was fabricated.

again if you dont like what i write, ignore it, no one is making you read it. :)

I say, If you dont like what I ask, dont answer it, ignore it, nobody is making you read it. LOL

1st excuse my English. Thank you.

I would like to know my rights as a legal resident there when I am married to an American Citizen.

What can I do if I will be discriminated in going inside a rich restaurant or shopping at rich stores, and they don't want me inside because of my ethnicity? One of my friends from the Philippines went inside a store, she could afford to buy the store's products but she wasn't treated well because she is Asian. I don't want that to happen to me. Can I sue them? what about if others are too harsh on me; nasty words, disrespecting me, insulting where I came from, etc.. I can excuse 1-3times I think but if I couldn't take it anymore?

Please advice. Thank you very much!

In order to sue you have to establish and prove there were damages to sue, in USA stores reserve the right to refuse service. I suggest if you know of a plac elike that just don't honor them with your business and go elsewhere. You can not sue someone simply because they disrespected , insulted you or said "harsh words". Now if they published or broadcast things about you that caused damages to your career or life such as libel or slander then that is a different story.

ahem coz I think this thread got so long coz of his thinking: A chance at "free" money? Sure why the hell not. I see she posted another thread in the K1 forum asking about qualifying income. Does 1+1 actually equal 2?. What a nice response, huh?

“AsianBeauty” if you think some people replying to your post isn’t being nice to you you don’t have to be like them.

i agree with girlfromphils.

we shouldn't expect everyone to be nice to us. hope you wont get me wrong when i tell you that you have to learn to tone down a bit. you will learn more when you get along with your bf. americans are very straigthforward. when they say it, they mean it. a NO is a NO and a YES is a YES. that's what i like about them. sometimes you will find them rude for being blunt, but most of the time, they have no intention of getting you hurt.

when my fiance and i decided to do the K1, he oriented me first...the life in the US...etc. in order not to have culture shock. im telling you life there is so different (based on what my fiance, cousins and relatives told me) so is the people. but if you know how to deal with them, surely you will do fine.

yes, you are right. thanks! there was nothing wrong with my questions i think, something is wrong with the tone of their comments. they misinterpreted me.

I agree with AKi, It is unfortunate and embarrassing for me as a US Citizen but USA is full of rude and prejudice people, In America We claim the USA as a melting pot but that is not the case a melting everything comes together and forms a new collective Ideal, we live a Mosaic Society where there is mix of many cultures and people. Americans are very outspoken, I hope that once you have been here long enough you will be able to understand sometimes it is not alwasy intention of people to be rude it is just the way they communicate, other times they are rude intentionally only because they are ignorant.

In most cases you will be welcomed, if you are living in a part of america where there are few asians or other ethnic groups you may encounter more "misunderstanding" and ignorant attitudes. keep your head up high and relaise that you are part of what Makes America what it is, and those who berate you are only hurting themsleves and proving ignorant.

Also one more thing don't let others' accounts of their experience lead you to beleive you will face the same thing, there might have been some other cirumstances surrounding those incidents.
