By coincidence I had read that topic before where she had mentioned this and I remembered it when you brought this point up. Yes, I believe they haven't filed for the K-1 yet, but I'd like to leave this to the OP to answer this correctly.

The whole thing that smells rotten about it all, is that the priorities are strongly underlined with materialism. Designer items, expensive restaurants, servants, etc. Then the mention of "suing" someone for whatever reason. The percentage is very high most of the time because it is usually for money. Any business that gets sued, the money that gets paid out in a lawsuit does not come out of the pockets of that business. It comes out of the consumer's pockets. That's the reason why Americans have to pay so much for everything. I don't know many American men that turn the other way when their lady is spending $800.00 for a Louis V purse. It's obvious us men don't ignore things like that. The other things, expensive restaurants, suing, etc., should not be of importance. The relationship should be. They haven't met in person yet, they only speak via the telephone, her family says they're right for each other, etc. That doesn't mean anything until they actually meet and see if they can live together. I am taking it that her family and boyfriend do not live in the same house. But people tend to believe the reality that is presented. He could turn out to be Mr. Jeckel/Mr. Hyde. The guy could be presenting himself as Mr. Wonderful. Do you really know for certain he is? How often do we read in the paper or see documentaries on TV that show early in a relationship how wonderful a person is and then turn out to be a crazed madman who stalked their girlfriend or spouse because that person no longer wanted to be in the relationship and they could not let them go? And then the whole relationship has a tragic ending? It gives you something to think about more than Louis V, expensive restaurants, and suing, doesn't it?

I agree, but I think you are talking to a wall here.

Then...if you chose to go to a superexpensive restaurant vs one of the famous chain-restaurants or you prefer designer purses to ordinary purses, that's a personal reference and if she or they will be able to afford it, we can't and shouldn't judge anyone for that.

Is it materialistic thinking? I think so, money isn't everything, but it is up to everyone themselves to decide where and how they spend their money.

The fact that they haven't met yet is a totally different story and again, that is for them to see how things will be once they meet.

Yes. Personal preference. I agree. I dated someone who was always focused on what I could buy for her. That was more important. Only to her though. Needless to say, of course, the relationship did not go anywhere past my wallet. It was good to know this and not continue it only to end up in the poor house to satisfy that need.

Maybe this pinay's dream will all come true. Maybe as long as he's bearing gifts of Louis V products under his arm!

damn, there was some long post on this today. again i think many people are reading too much into her words. let's be honest:we're all a little materialistic. noone is going to tell me, they haven't seen a really nice car or house & thought "i wish i had that". and noone is immune to getting a little aggressive if they think they're being picked on.

asianbeauty: i wish you & your fiance well. don't let peoples desire to question your motives or character bother you or keep you from posting questions here. if you have a question you think may be taken the wrong way by some, feel free to pm me & i'll answer it as best i can. BTW: i kinda like the fire in your attitude.

I agree with you partially, I don't think people here are judging her for liking expensive things, she sounds materialistic for the fact that she hasn't even met her fiance yet.. and her concern is how she'll go shopping to "rich" stores and go to "rich" restaurants. Also if you've read that first post, you'll see how upset she got when some of us suggested to meet him first before starting making wedding plans.. she practically told people to shut up! Meeting the person you'll marry first, it's a matter of common sense to me but she was so offended when people said that.

So the lesson to learn here for the OP, is that people wont be rude to her in the States nor anywhere in the world.. UNLESS she is rude to them first, which has already been proven here in this long thread!

uuhhmm, maybe you should reread this thread. about 1/2 way down the first page, people started questioning her motives & taking personal shots at her character. then she she returned the rudeness.

LOL, thanks, smoke20.

Goodness, that post was a long time ago, why does it have to be repeated here when it was answered??? ok, you want to pick on me!

I didnt have other motives except to know my rights, learning tips, ideas, suggestions. Some of you think so differently, and spying on my other post too?, have you got nothing to do? LOL, go ahead enjoy yourself! So, do you mean to say that I cant join here without a timeline yet? IS this exclusive only for people with timeline? some of you judge right away really as in I'm materialistic because I mentioned rich things, income,??? Goodness, LOL

So what if I havent met my fiancee yet and I wanted to know these things in advance how is that your business?, if you didnt want to argue why not talk straight to the question that it's not possible that we have to meet first...

Some of your thinking is not nice really. I'm not talking about everybody, of course there are some who just answer straightly and not being judgmental.

Can my fiance sponsor me even before meeting in person?,,, no u cant, u must meet 1st, read the guideline here..., O, thank you. Goodness, that was all I need! and some of you judge right away as to what my motive is, About income again, goodness, you judge right away.

Such a long thread, and I am tired of it. Thanks for judging! I hope you're happy.

Correct me if I am wrong but is this room exclusive only to those with timeline already?

i almost forgot that ppls opinions on VJ was concidered being rude. how dare me *slaps hands*

If the OP didnt want opinions about what she was asking, she should have asked off the forum to someone else.

The fact is if you air yourself out then your opening yourself to critisim, a difference of opinion, agreements and ppl who will just think your crazy. Its the chance you take on a public forum. If the OP only wanted answers that she could agree with, again ask someone who you know will agree with you.

If the OP dont like some of the answers or comments given to her on here, she can ignore then or just not respond to them.

In my opinion half of what she was telling us was irrelavent to her question, which made her look to some ppl as superficial and self centered and materialistic. I think a simple " if im descriminated against can i sue?" would have been a better choice of question other than announcing she KNOWS she will not be allowed in a rich resturant and rich stores and so on.

I am adult already I dont need parental guidance, why dont go straight answer?, I got upset because it is like she/he made fun of my question. I just really wanted to talk about visa processing that is why I am here. Why do you have to parent me, dont you see that I am adult? Really just wanted to talk about the process. And, seems like you want to pick on me and remind the other post made several days ago, LOL. And I say how is it your business? you just want to argue?
