Hey VJ, I want to publicly anounce that I'm dead sexy!

Cheers!!!

Sheriff Uling

I think the way some people jump on people here on VJ is pretty sad all the way around. It seems that most don't take the time to think about their response and how it might be interpreted. "But SHE started it!" Right? So what?

Preach!!! I'm not the only person that knows the truth.

The disease has spread! It's contagious SU! I'm a damn good-looking man! With coconut nuts according to the Filipinas on here! ;)

As far as the preaching, could it be written on toilet paper so that I may put it to good use later?

Jab with the regulars, Joe, but there's no need to pick on a newbie who's never even stepped off the plane yet. There are more tactful ways to call someone on their obvious absurdities without rubbing their nose in their own doo-doo. :star:

i was going to say the same thing.....but w/ a lot less tact.

So what you're saying is you don't appreciate being called out about this?

Is that what it is? I'm sorry I did not understand your attempt.

But please, write it down for me. I'll be happy to read it. But you'll have to excuse me though.

I've got other messages I must get to first ;)

Wow well that was some read....

Only thing that I can comment on about the whole thread is why would someone get engaged to a man they have never met?????? how do you know that you will even like the person.... how people discribe themselves on the internet may be very diffrent from who they really are in real life.... I know I could never make a life long dicision about my life and immigrating to another country based on a on-line relationship where I had not actually met the person.... I am amazed..... the OP is already trying to work out what her life will be like here in the US and thats before she has met the man....

maybe I am just old fashioned.... or just old!!!!!

I think the reason the OP got jabed was #1 shes engaged to a man shes never met and #2 first question was can she sue if shes descriminated.

I cant speak for everyone, but i know my husband and all the immigrant friends i have didnt have sueing anyone on their mind before coming to the US.

I also dont understand about her point of going into a fancy resturant and being discriminated. she can walk into freakin huddle house and be discriminated. just by her words, id say $$$ is more on her mind than it should be.

1st excuse my English. Thank you.

I would like to know my rights as a legal resident there when I am married to an American Citizen.

What can I do if I will be discriminated in going inside a rich restaurant or shopping at rich stores, and they don't want me inside because of my ethnicity? One of my friends from the Philippines went inside a store, she could afford to buy the store's products but she wasn't treated well because she is Asian. I don't want that to happen to me. Can I sue them? what about if others are too harsh on me; nasty words, disrespecting me, insulting where I came from, etc.. I can excuse 1-3times I think but if I couldn't take it anymore?

Please advice. Thank you very much!

Thats not discrimination in RICH resturants or RICH stores, thats life, you cant sue everyone you run into that doesnt like you. And if someone doesnt like you and calls you something or is heaven forbid INSULTING, i seriously doubt it will be because of your race.

Niagaenola,

There are MANY people on VJ who "fell in love" "got engaged" "fell even more in love" (all based on signatures), before they "met in person and fell even more than that in love".

I met my husband while on vacation in Paris, so I find it hard to understand as well. However, based on the numbers here, clearly it does. So then who are we to judge?

Oh I am not judging at all.... just expressing my confusion on how this happens... if it works for you then so be it.... I just know I could not make such life changing decisions until I had at least met once.... yes I can see how you may have feelings for each other after chatting on the net but I would need to have some face to face RL contact and then take it from there....

But that is just me...

Niagaenola,

Sorry if I misunderstood you. I thought you were commenting on this particular OP and the way she is anticipating her life here in the US, especially since she hasn't yet met her fiance.
