I second this! 90% of the posts on here with something wrong with their case start with "I hired a lawyer but they didn't tell me ..."

 

Yes, sometimes people don't pay attention. But bad lawyers and overly cautious new USCIS employees make up the bulk of RFEs I've noticed. Back in October-November the RFE rate was through the roof (see my post above) and we're pretty sure it was the new USCIS employees asking for an RFE whenever they weren't sure. My K1 FB group was seeing RFEs for things that should never matter at the I-129F stage, like chat logs. But its gotten way better thankfully! 

 

My husband and I feel like immigration near-experts after all this. He's applying to law school next year. 🤣

Yeah, I think some applicants just don't read the instructions very carefully. I saw someone who just sent in the petition without any evidence. Just the filled out form. Crazy.

Good luck and much patience to your husband! He's gonna need it. My fiancé is a lawyer as well and law school was TOUGH!

I hired an attorney after doing alot of research and paid about 4k. If I get an RFE after paying 4k I will be so pissed. LOL The 4k includes adjustment or status and interview prep. We shall see... I will def keep visajourney updated.

I wonder why their cases in front of us estimate is so low.. I'm 24th Oct and have an estimate fo about 50k right now 💀
I hope theirs is right but when Sept 30 was 55,500 cases I dunno where 15k (+ those filed 1-14th Oct) went 🤔

I'm curious as well! I happen to have the exact same noa1 as them and I've been estimating about 47k in front of me.

comparing it to the old spreadsheet that seems to have stopped getting updated, it's just approvals/denials but they may be casting a wider net than Anna and I which is why their numbers of Approvals/denials are higher.

Curious as to whether they are approving really old cases maybe? Or newer ones? It could be a number of things I suppose

that or they're only looking at more recent and are including everything.... if you don't include July-Sept number is quite a bit lower.

Also their NOA1 is similar to mine and seeing if they increase to 4000 per month (being at almost 3500 already) NOA2 is expected end of Sept

As much as I wanna be with my partner ASAP we were banking on at least a yr before NOA2 for admin life reasons aaaahhhh. 

 

Which is why I'm tracking it so we don't get caught off guard if earlier...oh boy time to get a move on just in case
