Chance of interviewing together?

I am a U.S. Citizen. I had filed I-130 for my unmarried sister (203(a) (4) INA ). The I-130 recently got approved and forwarded to National Visa Center. If she gets married before NVC schedules her interview, is there a chance that she gets to interview together with her husband to come to U.S. together?

The family based fourth preference allows husband of your sister to immigrate with her along with children under the age of 21. However depending on country still it will take about 15 to 20 years for the Priority Date to become current. You can check the monthly Visa bulletin to see the progress in this category!

Hi Aluvaboy,

So theoretically I thought if an I-130 is forwarded to National Visa Center the interview will be scheduled soon despite the category. Is that a wrong assumption then? I had filled I-130 in 2019. I-130 got approved in 2023. Got notice saying it has been forwarded to NVC. So although it has been forwarded to NVC, do I still have to wait (13-4) 9 more years for NVC to schedule her interview?

Likely 12 years more or so.  Only F4 cases with I-130 petitions filed on or before March 22, 2007 are getting visa interviews now.  Even older for cases from India, Mexico, and the Philippines.  Check the visa bulletin here -- https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin.html
