Waiting for I-129F approval but the passport is expiring

Tried contacting uscis but to no avail so not sure if anyone has any information on this.

we submitted our form back in 2022 and while it’s been received with the current wait times it won’t be processed until end of this year. My (fiancée) passport is expiring mid this year and I’d like to get a new one asap so I can travel if I need to but I’m not sure if that will impact our I-129F application as we have used my current passport number which will not be applicable at the end of the year when our form will be processed. Is it ok to update my passport without contacting USCIS and adjusting the form? Will it be declined? Is there any risks at all? Or is it okay to go ahead and renew the passport and just keep the old one for reference?

I don’t know who the petitioner and who the beneficiary are in this case but yes either or both can renew their passports.

If it is the petitioner, the petitioner should ideally have some other evidence of being a U.S. citizen at the file I-129F was filed instead of a canceled passport.
