221g refusal CR1/IR1 interview/ thoughts?

Hello everyone, I would appreciate your thoughts on my current situation as I am bit confused. Thank you in advance. 

 

Little Background about me and my spouse: I am a U.S citizen  and sponsoring my wife who had an interview today at U.S embassy. Me and my spouse know each other from 1990 and got married  in 1991. We had two children in 1994 and 1997. Unfortunately, we got divorced in 2004 as things didn't work out between us. However, our grown children reconnected us years later and in 2021 we got married back and I send in the I-130 for my spouse.

 

What happened during the interview today: When my wife arrived at the interview and was called by a local lady to inspect the documents, she was only asked about her civil documents and no mention of sponsors (mine) documents. After that, she was called by the consular officer who asked few questions about our children and where I was (I am currently with my wife waiting for the decision) Then consular officer asked my wife to obtain and send the 1st marriage certificate which was issued in 1991 and Passport through mail service. At first we got confused since we had divorce certificate issued in 2004 and we thought that 1st marriage certificate didn't make any sense. However, on the same day we found this certificate (fortunately) and send it with my wife's passport as it was requested in 221g. 

 

Here are my questions:

1) Is it normal for U.S embassy to not ask about sponsors documents? all documents were uploaded on ceac and accepted, however, I always heard that people get asked to show sponsors documents during interview. (I am using assets through bank account and uploaded last three years of bank transcripts with way over sufficient requirement + tax transcript)

2) As 221g form requested the passport to be sent through mail, does it mean that there is higher probability that visa will be issued? 

3) What you guys think is the reason they requested 1st marriage certificate? It doesn't make sense to me as we had divorce certificate for that first marriage between us and also had current marriage certificate issued in 2021.

 

P.S we had a ton of evidence with us including pictures, vacations, joint property, etc.. but CO didn't ask to see those documents. Also, status on ceac website still says Ready and didn't change to refused. I also checked the portal and everything says accepted without any notes.

1 normal.. they see it all online 

2. yes.. not guaranteed but usually indicates that if the missing document is provided and approved then the visa will be approved  

3 standard procedure to require documentation of ALL marriage/divorces. Im surprised you got through NVC without submitting this .

I guess we got lucky,  I wasn't aware of it and thought that divorce certificate from first marriage was sufficient. But apparently it is not. Thank you for your response.

😁They always look for continuity through the history.. marriage and divorce names must match .. dates are checked etc ..

normally yes, but since you guys marriage to each other twice, i dont see its weird for them to ask the first marriage certificate.
