CELLPHONES IN THE US EMBASSY

If we are not allowed to bring our cellphones inside the embassy, can we leave it to the guard? Or is there a place/ counter where we can deposit them? Thanks

There used to be a place at the guard station where they would keep them and give you a claim tag. Those days are gone. You will not be allowed to bring in a cellphone. Leave it at home or in your hotel room or in your car.

guard will refuse it ( as to my experience). a vendor infront of the embassy accepts it but with pay. i guess it's better to leave it in your room for safety, anyway, the interview process wont take long as long as you come early.

correct me if im wrong but as far as i can remember there used to be a booth where you can leave your cellphone.

Yes, there's a booth for that, but the privilege is just for US citizens only. At the entrance, I gave my cellphone to the ladyguard, and she said you can't leave it here, and the other ladyguard informed her that im with my husband (US citizen), so it's ok, only then they took my cellphone.
