Some updates, I send an email to the NVC las week, asking if my case was on the queue for an interview.

In fact, it was more to remind them that my case is waiting for an interview.

I received today an email nearly the same I received when I was DQ, but this time it's written

The next communication you receive from NVC will be either a notice that your appointment is scheduled, or if an appointment is not scheduled within the next 60 days, we will send a notice confirming that your case is still in line for an interview.
So a classic that other people waiting received.
Maybe I will try to contact the embassy next...

Looks like you've only been waiting a month? So I'd say a little premature to chase things up, you will have been added to the queue in April but probably all of the interviews had already been assigned for that month. So I reckon you'll get the IL fairly soon, I wouldn't chase it until 60 days passes.

Good luck.

I received the same email from NVC. Maybe at the embassy someone can tell what DQ date are taking interview now.

What is your PD? Please fill in your timeline, it helps when you're asking questions but also helps other EB applicants. There aren't many of us around, so the more timelines the better.

Thx.

Yes exactly, it's been a month. Like I was DQ last October but not current I just want to make sure that they will not forget me!!! It's really difficult to know where we are going about the interview in Paris. The last informations I found in platforms like Reddit, Lawfully or here, are really differents and last news of an interview letter dates back from august 2023. Since then no news, so I try to figure it out. Some people are saying on Reddit that you have to wait 1 year after being current to receive the interview letter in Paris but I didn't find any proof.

Like I said before the last real cases I find were on this forum and people received their IL sometimes 1 month after being DQ or sometimes 4 months. My lawyer underestimate the time, so I want to be mentaly prepare if it's more than few months....

They won't forget you. Personally I don't think it will be more than a few months, I've never seen a Paris IL take that long, it's one of the quickest consulates.

  • 2 weeks later...

I am one of the persons you talked to on Reddit (also a she not a he).

EB2 NIW (PD Dec 2021) I’ve been DQd since 8 Dec 2023 and I’ve been waiting 5.5 months for my IL.
I have received 3 of those automatic emails so far (every couple months) informing me I am still in line. Also contacted the NVC - they told me I am in line, and the embassy - they told me my file is at NVC. So there’s not much to be done but wait it seems.

I talked to a few CR1s and they are not getting theirs before 3 months at the moment so I would wait at least a couple months before contacting the NVC. Be prepared to wait a while.

I also read 1y for IL in Paris for EB2-NIW… and did not believe it, yet here I am closing on soon 6 months of wait!

I see, 5.5 months is a bit frustrating, but it's good that both NVC and the embassy have confirmed that you are waiting in line. By the way, how did you contact the embassy? Is it through email? I wonder if the wait is because of the Olympics... Hopefully, you'll get the IL soon, keep us posted!

Hello, I spoke to you yesterday and coincidentally today I received the interview date for May 24th. I am really happy.

Hi @Natashavilacha would you mind sharing when your case became current on visa bulletin? I am also waiting an NIW interview in Paris and my DQ is from Nov/23. I’ve got worried when I saw you are DQ from March/23 and your interview is going to be in May/24.

Seems like her interview was in May 2023 not 2024...

@zaboo26we've got information from another group, where you can see that right now they are sending the IL for people who were DQ in June/2023. So I would say, you should be prepared to wait around 5 months more unfortunately. I am DQ from Nov/23, so when you receive your IL, will mean that I am about to receive mine too 😀

Oh that's right! Sorry @Natashavilacha, never mind!
So if I've just read everything correctly in this thread, we have the following people currently on the waiting list for Paris: @isimoes (DQ Jul/23), @zaboo26 (DQ Nov/23), myself (DQ Nov/23) and @Cool-ant_622 (DQ Dec/23). Let's cross our fingers that this line moves fast!

Thank you for this information, could you share with us the name of the group where you found this or the link?

This is actually a Whatsapp group from people waiting for interview in the Rio de Janeiro Consulate. There are more than 600 people waiting for the interview there. Our case was addressed to Rio, but since I live in Portugal, we transferred the case to Paris recently. As there is a lot of people on this list, we can clearly see that ILs usually are sent on the first week of every month (that helped me to cool down my anxiety, because before knowing that I was checking my e-mail every single day), and in the last batch of interviews they invited only DQs from May and June 2023.

It's good to read you ! It's really complicated to estimate things, because I found that finally lots of people that talked on Reddit or here are waiting for an interview in Paris but aren't from France. And so often their cases are transferred from other country like Canada where the wait is more than a year...so their DQ dates are older.

I discovered also that things can be differents from the fields where you are working, the EB2 NIW pilots received their interview sooner than the others for exemple because there's a huge need of pilot right now.
