Thank you for your answer, yes my PD is current since April 1st. It's 15/12/22, DQ November 6th. Like you, I saw the numbers for March and it's more than usually so it's giving me hope.

But I talked with someone on Reddit, EB2 NIW case, he's current and waiting since December, no news from the NVC or the Embassy since... So that's makes me nervous.

 

The Olympics are quite a problem but thanks to the document you send me, it seems that they send temporary duty personnel to France to help the workflow. They will allow the Marseille and Strasbourg consulates to provide consular services, so it's a good news.

 

Family based cases seem to receive their IL nearly 2 to 3 months after being DQed. 

Even if it's the end of the journey, it's quite a long process...

I see. It's good to know about the NIW case on Reddit you mentioned, December to today is 4 ~ 5 months, that's quite a long delay. Do you know what this person's case status is? If the case status is still "At NVC", that means NVC still hasn't sent his/her case to the embassy yet, in this case, maybe you can suggest to him/her to contact NVC (via the NVC public inquiry form) to ask why. It could be due to some mistakes by NVC (for example not realizing the case's PD is current). 

 

If the status is "In transit" it means it's being sent to the embassy. 

 

If the status is "Ready", it means the case is already sent to the embassy and ready for scheduling an interview, then the delay is due to the embassy. If this is the case, then that is indeed worrying. Perhaps it's worth contacting the Paris Embassy (I found the contact us page: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-fr/iv/information/contact_us But I'm not sure if they will reply).

Oh wow, that's a long wait. What's your category? Is it family-based or employment-based? And, what is your case status? Is it "At NVC" or "Ready"? If it's the former, it means your case is still at NVC, and NVC has not sent your case to the embassy yet, in this case, maybe you should contact NVC to ask about it and remind them to do the transfer. My category is EB2-NIW and it's still at the NVC. I sent an inquiry to the NVC today, let's see what they will say.

I see. Then it must be some mistake of the NVC. As soon as your PD is current, they should send your case to the embassy. After the embassy receives your case, they will start scheduling your interview.

Are you sure that the consulate schedules the interview?

About the case that I mentioned before, this guy told me that his PD is July 2021. He wait a long time for the answer and got RFE so finally he became DQ in December 2023. I told him to try to contact the NVC or ask for an expedite but he can't. 

 

About my case, it still said At NVC. I read somewhere that NVC need around 7 weeks after being DQed to contact the Embassy. I agree with you it's always a good idea to contact the NVC to remind them that your case is still pending.

I think you're right, I find this on the NVC contact page for immigrant visa :

The U.S. Embassy or Consulate tells NVC which dates they are holding interviews. NVC fills these appointments on a first-in, first-out basis and cannot predict when an interview will be scheduled.

Once complete, your case will remain at NVC until an appointment is scheduled, at which time we will send it to the appropriate U.S. Embassy or Consulate. We will notify the applicant, petitioner, and attorney (if applicable) when an appointment is scheduled.

I see. Then I must have misunderstood. I remember seeing a post saying their case status changed to "In transit" before they received the interview letter, that's why I had the impression that the interview scheduling happens after the case is sent to the embassy. I guess then, the correct order should be: one receives the interview letter from NVC while the case status remains "At NVC" ->  case status then changes to "In transit" ->  finally to "Ready"?

I see. Is that guy also waiting for an interview in Paris? Hopefully, this one case doesn't reflect a general trend.

 

7 weeks seems not too bad, keep us posted if you receive the interview letter, I hope it'll come soon!

Some updates, I send an email to the NVC las week, asking if my case was on the queue for an interview.

In fact, it was more to remind them that my case is waiting for an interview.

I received today an email nearly the same I received when I was DQ, but this time it's written : 

The next communication you receive from NVC will be either a notice that your appointment is scheduled, or if an appointment is not scheduled within the next 60 days, we will send a notice confirming that your case is still in line for an interview.

So a classic that other people waiting received.

Maybe I will try to contact the embassy next...
