Any idea on how long our case will be in transit to ready?

Case expedite got approved and forwarded to Manila embassy as of Jan 25, 2023.

No idea for expedited cases.  My IR1 case was not expedited.  Change from "In Transit" to "Ready" was so quick, I actually never had a chance to see my case status while "In Transit".  It was "Ready" by the time I got my IL in 2021.

Good news!

Case change to ready as of today

Can I schedule an appointment or do I wait for embassy to contact me via email?

Check the posts above by @top_secret.  If you are able to see the appointment calendar, go ahead and try to book a schedule already.

But we called the visa information and appointment services and they said we need to wait for a welcome letter, something like that

Mind you, we are F2A. Does scheduling apply to F2A.

Also the facility for medical exam might look for an interview letter

Does your CEAC case status now say "Ready"?  Have you checked the USTravelDocs portal to see if your case may now be self-scheduled?

Chancy and Mary Bernard, thank you for your responses.  I hope you will read the correspondence between me, the Senators Office and the NVC. Following are copies of my request to the Senators Office to have the NVC send the kids files to the NVC and responses from my Senators Office to me and from the NVC to the Senators Office.  I hope this makes my situation very clear.  Please understand that although the Senator is a friend of more than 25 years I don’t ask him to micro manage my situation as he obviously has far more important things on his plate.  Having said that if I believe his intervention is required then I will call him.  I’d rather it not come to that.  I do respect the advice I get here and will act accordingly.

I do have one additional question.  NVC says they are waiting for the Embassy to request the children’s files to schedule an interview.  They are 6 & 9 yrs old so will they be Interviewed?  Is it possible they will schedule my Wife’s Interview before the children’s files arrive at the Embassy or will the Embassy wait until they have all three files to interview my wife?

I deleted the Identifying names and numbers for security but didn’t alter what my contact at my Senators office or the NVC said.

The NVC can only send the kids files when the Consulate asks for them. The Consulate won’t ask for the files to be sent until they can accommodate them.

One Additional Thought:

Is it worthwhile asking the NVC to send the kids files along so they can “Join” or “Merged” with their mothers case?  I hate to even think about them being another 3 months as was the case with Shei.

Thanks, (removed)

Here’s your explanation regarding interviews:

“Senators Office:

From the NVC:

Thank you for your email concerning the immigrant visa petitions filed by(removed)on behalf of (removed)with assigned case numbers MNL2022-Wife, MNL2022-stepson, and MNL2022-stepdaughter.

For MNL2022-Wife

The U.S. Embassy in Manila, Philippines requested this petition be sent to them. The NVC expedited this case to the U.S. Embassy in Manila, Philippines on 09-JAN-2023. As this case is currently under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Embassy, please direct any further inquiries to the U.S. Embassy.

For MNL2022-stepson and MNL2022stepdaughter:

These cases were not included in the request from the U.S. Embassy.

We received all of the necessary forms and documents and completed our processing of these cases; they are currently waiting for a visa interview to be scheduled with the U.S. Embassy in Manila, Philippines.

We schedule interviews each month based on the capacity provided to us by the U.S. Embassy. We will send notification to all case parties by mail or email when an immigrant visa appointment is scheduled.

Unfortunately, NVC cannot provide an estimated timeframe for when an interview will be scheduled. Due to the global COVID-19 outbreak, U.S. Embassies and Consulate Generals have cancelled all routine immigrant and nonimmigrant visa services. However, they are providing limited visa services as resources and local conditions allow.

Great News.  My Wife has moved from In Transit to Ready.  I was unable to request an Interview Date as of just now but I’m still unsure if my wife will get an interview date before the children’s files get to the Embassy in Manila.

Great! Let's hope for an interview date for your wife

So I read all the email you post and it seems they only need to interview you wife n not kids? Although they have all documents for the kids.

Update us on the interview date for your wife

Your children will need to attend their visa interview in person at the embassy.  No exceptions to this rule, even for kids.  Since your wife's case is already at USEM, if you prefer that your family be interviewed together, you may contact USEM directly (instead of NVC) to request that they be scheduled together, possibly holding onto your wife's case until your children's cases are also transferred and ready.  It's also possible that USEM will tag all their cases for self-scheduling instead, so you can pick their appointment yourself.

Chancy, thanks again for sharing your knowledge.  Do you know the best way to get my message to the Embassy?  NVC was made aware of us wanting to join my wife’s case with the children back in September.  As you could see in the message yesterday from NVC they are well aware of the children’s file not being with the Embassy yet but from what I understand they must wait to hear from the Embassy.

Are the children documentarily qualified?  If your wife's case was expedited you may need to request the children be expedited too.  NVC may know that the children's case is not at the embassy but it is the embassy that approves expedites and the embassy may not have looked into it in so much detail yet.  That fact that their mothers case is already at the embassy would be a good reason to request an expedite.

Contact USEM via -- https://ph.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visa-inquiry-form/

It might take a while for them to respond (maybe a week or so), but from my experience, they do reply to all inquiries/requests.
