I now know that you need a resident permit in the country you want to transfer your case to. Can anyone please help me with the process of getting a resident permit in either Côte d’Ivoire or Togo? I heard they don’t have a backlog, it’s an ir1 visa. Thank you 🙏🏿

You want to move to a different country on the off-chance that you'll get a visa interview sooner?

The point is more for people who happen to be living legally in another country to be able to interview.

It is unlikely anyone here will know details of how to become a legal resident of those countries.  You would probably have to look into their government websites to see whether it is possible to move there.

Right now there's no need to be a citizen or resident to interview at another consulate in a different country.

Just contact the new consulate to see if they'll agree to your case transfer.

-For Those Navigating Long Interview Wait Times-

Our goal is to provide a visa interview for every applicant who requires one, worldwide, in a reasonable timeframe.  Although our processing capacity is rebounding faster than projected, we know that visa applicants still face lengthy wait times at some embassies and consulates.  We urge any visa applicant who can travel to another embassy or consulate with shorter wait times to consider doing so.  There is no penalty for applying anywhere appointments are available, even outside your home country.
