If you are the USC, do slights about the system insult you?

I'm just wondering, there are a lot of U.S. Citizens on this board (obviously!). Sometimes in this forum you get people (from other countries) criticizing the immigration department, the U.S. government in general, their chosen State's government departments - etc etc.. Just wondering if that sometimes ticks you off a bit!

Nah - because by and in large, the gripes are true!

And so long as someone doesn't try to equate how the system sucks to US as a whole/US people suck (which is actually a non sensical argument anyway), it doesn't bother me.

Nope, not at all. I'm the USC and like someone else said, I complain more than my spouse.

Many immigrants complain about USCIS - and rightfully so.

Yes, I do. It's a combination of the "Yes - I can't believe people can complain so much and still want to come to this 'inefficient' country!!" and "I criticize the system myself frequently."

It's the same thing as if I'm often criticizing my parents, but if someone else (an outsider) does it, you bet your ####### I'm going to be ticked off about it. So it is for this, as a USC, I do have lots of criticism for the US government, but for foreigners to criticize about the government they're trying to immigrate to, I do think it's pretty laughable. The easiest reply would be, then don't immigrate to the US if you think the government is so horrible.

It doesnt bother me much when someone from another country insults the process of USCIS. but when they like to bash America for any reason, that's when my patriotic blood boils. I say, if you hate it so much...get the F#$K OUT!
