I can't begin to explain how pumped I am that they hit 250/day for a week. If this becomes their new speed, we all need to reevaluate when we should be expecting our NOA2. This pace (or even close to it) consistently takes about a month off our current projections.

If they are processing ~250/day for the rest of this year, that is ~46,000/year. That would put Jan 2023 filers getting their NOA2 ~11 months after NOA1.

I’m excited by the higher processing last week, but with all of the RFEs I’m not sure what good it will do in the long run. USCIS case processing has been updated from 15.5 months to 16.5 months. 😔

Pretty crazy for the richest country in the world, right?

Lol the US isn't the richest country in the world but I get your point. The US probably deals with a lot more immigration than most if not all countries so makes sense they're overloaded. Last administration also wasn't exactly helping either

Honestly a lot of people make mistakes so I wouldn't worry about RFE too much. Think it's also partly new staff so hopefully that'll decrease as they get used to the job

USCIS may say 16.5 months but they're actually approving the bulk around 13-14ish months now so

"This processing time is based on how long it took us to complete 80% of adjudicated cases over the past six months."

This means that as of end of February, 80% of cases that were adjudicated from September 2022 until February 2023 took 16.5 months.

This is not a forward looking metric but a historic one. Our fellow data geeks are however looking at forward looking metrics. It is apples and oranges, or at least green and red apples - just not super comparable.

Exactly, explained it better than I.

They're also processing double per month what they were in Sept-Jan which makes a big difference but as it's historic data it's not obvious. Also without the improved numbers sept-feb, it probably would have increased to 17.5-18months not just 16.5.

I'm hoping the next time they update it'll come down to 14.5

it's updated frequently on the spreadsheet??? Just look at estimate time tab. It's currently sitting between 13-15months I'd say for the bulk of people getting their NOA2 at the moment. They started march 2022 filers at 13months but slowly so it'll peak at around 14-14.5 months probably
