To be honest, my fiance keeps saying we can just get married in my parents' house and she'll be happy. I just don't want her to look back and be disappointed, so I think I'll try and find options that don't break the bank but make it memorable.

Yeah, I think that's a good compromise! For our part, my fiancé has been married before, and I honestly never considered marriage for myself until I fell in love with someone in another country – so I don't think either of us is placing a huge amount of weight on the day itself. It will be enough to spend it with our loved ones and know it's the start of the rest of our lives together! (We are also very lucky in that San Francisco's city hall is stunning, haha.)

That's a great option. Depending on the weather as it may be winter/spring still, I was looking at going up into the mountains here for it, but we'll see.

I only have a venue picked because my bf has been married before but I'd always assumed I'd have a church wedding. To do that he'd have to sort annulment which takes 16 months. So I looked to see if I could picture myself getting married somewhere other than a church and just happened to find the perfect place.

We're not going to book anything without a visa in hand but just want to go have a look to make sure it's for us and talk to them about diff options + when to book. They're a small-medium sized place run by a couple who are really into weddings, they even offer free ceremonies to help people get married in a budget so I'm actually curious if they'd let us book but move the date if needed with enough warning 😂 Doubt it though

And as someone else said, mostly a way to pass the time... Not booking anything without a visa just excited

USCIS is back to kicking butt after the 3-day weekend. They processed 317 cases on Tuesday, which is the best single processing day to date.

If they keep kicking butt like this, they'll hit in may 2023 actually 4000 cases a month, it seems like they can hit this month around 3000! Masssssive improvement! Good job USCIS that's what we all wanna see! :D

I just got laid off my job and had the BIGGEST stress ever. (I was legit crying the whole week and not sure what to do anymore) Trying to find a new job as of now, hoping I can if not I'm doomed (srsly so many tech companies are laying off rn it's CRAZYYY!) If so that actually would cut my time down real hard here, so I'd have to make plans with new work @_@ !

At the rate they are going I am very confident. They have processed 4,922 in the last 25 business days which is ~196/day. March has 23 business days. 196 x 23 = 4,508.

It's not me it's the numbers hahaha but I'm glad the numbers made you happy. They might hit 4,000 cases this month, but I think they will fall short in February.

These numbers are amazing! Do we know how long the NVC is taking these days? like from the moment you get noa2 till you can schedule an interview with your embassy?

I haven't looked at those numbers and trends too much, but from what I remember seeing its like ~4/months but it is embassy dependent though. Some can do 3 months some do 5.

To my knowledge still variable, they've def sped up from that 3month everyone seemed to be stuck at but can still be 1-3 months. Seems main variable is how long it takes USCIS to send it

Ohh I thought I saw that they have been improving? Just looked at their website and it says they are working on cases they received feb 2? Does that mean those cases got their noa2 months ago or in january? https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html
