Any idea what the current backlog is since September 30 (the last quarterly report)?

the report said there were 55k cases pending, but one of the spreadsheets says only 38k pending as of october, and i don't get how they got that number

We have to wait for the report by USCIS to know for sure.

So we were basically hopeful for nothing? 🥴

No! They're better than before, and that is always good news!

I just wouldn't expect major timeline reductions. Right now they are just about breaking even. But even this is fantastic news. We were all expecting it to go to 16.5 months and that doesn't look like it'll happen!

I think they are estimating off there current place in line and they are estimating based off current processed cases? Because that number is similar to AndiB.

Can you share your spreadsheet in a Google Doc like the guy from Reddit?

as far as i know they got the number on the spreadsheet by scanning cases manually, which could lead to some errors.

if by end of september there were 55k cases according to USCIS and 7-8k were processed so far, someone with an NOA1 of Oct1 2022 should have around 47k cases ahead of them.

So either we're missing something or the 38k number is inaccurate.

it looks like they scanned and found the number based off received + RFE  (38k) whereas my guess is based off the 55k - removed since (47k ish) but zero idea where in the range is accurate. I'll assume the worst (47k) until USCIS tells me otherwise 😭

I compiled the quarterly data since 2017 in case anyone finds it useful: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vQ-2DBEBeBMZ041TRFhsguzUmuMNHjfHE9IPrE8AgH_F_xuFPxEeUMXk8PVTpyhcLjBZQ6yXD8MD7gD/pubhtml

  • Obviously this only goes up to September, so doesn't factor in recent improvements.
  • I mainly pulled this to see what their max was before COVID, which was 1,226/week.

To answer the official Approved + Denied values are different than the legendary 2021 spreadsheet, I suspect that it's primarily because this spreadsheet is only tracking the activity of cases that were opened in 2021.

  • The 2022 cases that were withdrawn, expedited & approved, or immediately rejected (because they had the wrong fee or were improperly filed) would be captured in the offical processing numbers, but not the 2021 sheet.
  • Likewise, any 2020 cases that had extended processing times would be in the official data, but not the 2021 sheet.
