What kind of documents would be the standard to gather to prepare for a potential RFE

It depends. Not everyone gets an RFE but for me I would look at the RFE thread and then go over what I sent in and try and figure out possible things I could have included or more photos etc. Depends on the case though. No need to stress out too much over it

Okay good. I'm not really worried about it because I used to work for DOS and feel like I was pretty thorough in my application, but when I heard about RFE's for proof of an engagement I got really worried!!

Recent ones were proof of intended marriage to include a thorough plan (HA), signed letters from friends and relatives, etc.

USCIS wants to be made to believe that what you have is for real.

Yeah I thought that was pretty crazy, especially since a lot of people don't get officially engaged until after they have applied for the k1

My very best laughable moment: proof of the moment the two exchanged their vows.

Um. Yeah. Let us "find" that. Oh, do ignore a much recent "timestamp" on the picture. :D

Do we know how many applications are withdrawn on average per week? This week we had ~700, is that within the normal range?

About 2% and that's over the entire lifespan of 15+ months... where on Earth did you find 700 withdrawals?

makes sense!! Some people don't even care about being engaged or having a ring and just get married. And we shouldn't forget not all cultures have the same customs about this either

'luck explaining that to USCIS :D

P.S. Don't forget that USCIS is also handling asylum applications. And those are imploding.

Time for an "aw snap?", but stronger-worded?

Just an update for the group here, I complained to both my senators about the wait times for I-129s and K-1s, and they are reaching out to USCIS. I encourage everyone here to do the same if you haven't already.

Hi! My fiancé wants to do that too but he asked if there was some kind of template letter or something cause he doesn’t know what to write. Thank you!

I don't think there's a standard one. Just write a basic letter.
