no for NOA2, this was based on Oct-Dec processing speeds, they've doubled processing since then.

I see, I see. I didn't start tracking the numbers until mid/late January. Maybe that's why I am optimistic lol and a good luck charm haha

Yeah, I read the Q1 post the other night and was briefly startled by the estimated backlog until I realised how early Q1 is for USCIS. Hopefully Q2 (or more likely Q3) will look better on paper?

We're now at over 4500 for March so over doubles Q1 monthly

Remember Jan and Feb were great months but they were still improving from 2200-ish so Q2 will still be a lil low

I´d like to know how in  the world uscis processed k1. like for the fiscal year 2023, 1st quarter,(oct,nov,dec2022). why cant they finish it all up before going into 2nd quarter of 2023? 

 

Most of Jan, Feb and some March 2022 filers are being process before them. 

Some of the 1st Q 2023 filers are waiting for at least 16.5 months now. On the other hand, 2nd Q 2023 some very lucky filers are only waited 14 months to get processed. This is backpedaling in my book...Can someone make an assumption on why they do this?

Curious how todays numbers look with Good Friday. Hopefully they Atleast knock out 150.

 

Also I have come to realize that the metric we should really care about is approvals and withdrawals. Most rejections are for cases that have just been submitted, so there’s minimal impact to backlog. As far as approvals and withdrawals, We are way ahead this week.

My guess is that some applicants needs more “investigation” and get left behind. For example, maybe a questionable background check pops up and they need to investigate further. But at that point no RFE would be sent so it looks like the case is just left behind. That’s just my guess

Exactly. We see cases that are "left behind" but dont know the reason,  USCIS sees the actual details of the case, whatever they may be. It can range from someone with run ins with the police, someone on a watchlist, espionage or an attempt at it, criminal activity, a "visa farmer". I would bet that very few are legitimate couples.

This has been discussed a few times and bottom line is no one knows for sure.

Generally the educated assumption is every worker gets x case numbers assigned to them and when they're done they move onto the next, those last ones probably have slow workers or workers with more difficult cases to sort. 

Secondly, their metrics are measured at 50% and 80%, the last 20% do not have a large impact on metrics so it's in their interest to keep moving on 

 

Also, there's a *very* small % in Q1 who have not had their cases looked at yet. The last almost 20% or less are RFEs so they're mid process. So generally they do do process them in approx order but the number or workers means that spread of cases across workers is probably 1-3months. They're basically done except for a small small % up to Jan and Jan is only about 12% not looked at. 

 

As unfortunate and unfair as this is and yh they could do better about it, it's probably just a mix of being on a slower case workers desk + them aiming for 80% processed in x time, not 100%.

 

I'm pretty sure this has always been the process and there's always been a +/- of a month or two on either side of USCIS estimate it's just a lot more heartbreaking and noticeable when they're this far behind and the spread has increased a bit

I have been through immigration twice, family members also been through diff ones and I'm in an LDR server, EVERY system I know of has some people get answers super fast and others quite a bit slower but it generally seems less of an issue when it's waiting 1 month v 4 against what we have here of 13 v 16-17. Each day, week and month is felt so much more strongly esp as a lot of these people expected 12 months or less at app date

Its true, uscis people must have the minimum requirements to get hired for the job, but they have different skill mind set, like you mentioned, I get that. 

 

I need to cut down my expectation and not pay attention their advertised 6-9 processing flow chart anymore. 

I guess were gonna have to  live with that...

I was going to say yesterday that I hoped we finally saw a week with 200+ cases processed each day but didn’t want to jinx it.
