The people who got an RFE have a timeline as well, and I feel like the later you fill out ur RFE / fill the requirements the worse it kinda looks...? Like if you missed a tick and u take 2 months really makes you question a lot haha. Yeah I feel like I am assuming they'll start in the next 1-2 weeks March at this paste...welp....  It's good for everyone who is a late filler(I'm an oct filler right) but still wish everyone would be approved! TT ❤️

Just a reminder to everyone that sooner rather than later we will all be with our loved ones shopping at the local grocery store doing every day things and this will all feel like a rough dream. Keep what is important in sight and don't lose perspective. It will all be worth it in the end. The worse it feels now, the sweeter the reunion will be 🩷 stay strong everyone!!!

Hmm I wonder if some of those who didn't respond to their RFE were stretching it in the first place, perhaps it wasn't completely legit but they tried applying anyway but now realized they couldn't provide what was being asked...

To keep things in perspective because this week was a rollercoaster with the new processing time estimate from USCIS. We are looking at our 4th straight week of processing 1,000+ cases, and 6 of the past 8 weeks they have processed at least 1,000 cases (one of the weeks was a shortened 4 day work week, and the still processed 800 cases)! There were months in 2022 where they only processed 1,200/1,300 cases for the entire month. There is a week to go for the total March numbers, and they are on pace to process ~500 more cases in March than they did in the months of May, June, and July of 2022 COMBINED. Since January, they have processed 10,854 cases! We are sitting at 213/cases a day processed in March! 

 

Yes, there is a lot we don't know about USCIS and the black hole of how they do business and why some cases are seemingly being left behind or "ghost cases", but what we do know is that since the new year they are rocking and rolling at a level that is 3-4x more than what they were doing in 2022. Keep the faith!

Yes, more cases appear to be touched - but quite a few of those are August, September ones... and a lot of those are denials - likely for taking too long to respond to an RFE.

 

I find it extremely puzzling that USCIS is yet to release Q12023 processing statistics. They are 3 months overdue - in the past these were available as quickly as a couple of weeks after a quarter. This is a major red flag for me.

 

But at the same time my VJ timeline keeps shortening. Go figure...

 

P.S. A fresh catch from my data mining: A 9/20/21 case got an initial RFE on 3/20/23. 18 months later. What. WAC2190138257.

Definitely keeping the faith! I refuse to let ANY negative thoughts cloud my mind. This process is exhausting enough. Here’s to timely NAO2s for us all!

About the processing stats is what I have also been wondering about, like what is going on there. About the processing times, I do think it'll reduce mid year at the current speed to maybe 13Months, I am assuming it hit 16 months because of the 2 months last year that were still very very slow....I am more concerned about the RFE situation. If someone can wait 2 months to fill out the RFE, that is where it'll get critical if everyone is gonna do it slow, it'll delay the time overall again correct?

this won't really affect us I assume but once they get back to 'normal' times they should start processing more fairly. The issue is really the backlog, once that's mostly removed they won't have to speed ahead at 50-60% like they have been. Hopefully that comes sooner rather than later for the 30-40%.

 

It's def a temporary method though, no comfort to all of us who are in this temporary period but it won't be like this forever. I imagine sometime next yr they'll return to 'normal'

it's def pros and cons, the US seems to have far more options than a lot of countries but is also some of the worst wait times. Real mixed bag....

Do you think they will have eliminated some of the backlog and returned to normal by the time it's time to adjudicate Q1 2022 cases? (like ours)

no, they have like 50k in backlog right now and are removing about 200/week? ish?

there will always be a backlog I think? Cause they don't adjudicate instantly so maybe like 20k is the 'normal' amount? but yh still a lot to get through

Yeah based on when they processed in ~4 months, the standing backlog was 17-23k.
