No, you won't get anything until the DQ email (or a RFE).

So my mom says she will need my original documents for her process. Am I really expected to mail her all my original certificates, passport, naturalization certificate etc? I find it hard to believe but can't find info

This is true. When I went in my interview I had to take all the original and you have to mail all the original stuff to your parents.
