Never heard of that happening

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

When submitting supporting documents to NVC before scheduling interview, do you also submit the police clearance/crimminal record?

Does the criminal record have to be from the current country of residence or any other places where a person used to live?

The whole process is set out step by step here, which tells you everything you need to submit - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-5-collect-financial-evidence-and-other-supporting-documents/step-7-collect-civil-documents.html

Just in case you hadn't found that webpage yet, as I found it super useful.

And make sure you look at the country specific documents too to make sure you get the right version of everything.

After your case is documentarily qualified at NVC, what's the next step?

See the link I gave you on a previous post, step 10 - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-8-scan-collected-documents/step-9-upload-and-submit-scanned-documents.html

You're added to the queue for an interview and just wait to be notified of it.

Good luck.

So my mom says she will need my original documents for her process. Am I really expected to mail her all my original certificates, passport, naturalization certificate etc? I find it hard to believe but can't find info

Did she say what she needed them for?
