hello,

i just want to know documents / requirements i need to bring to the PHIL if i want to bring my USC child there. Child was born in the US.  I'm married to the father but i still use my maiden name in my US passport. if my husband is not coming with us do i need like an authorization letter from him? does it need to be notarized? also, if i stay longer than 1 month there do we need to pay penalty? i do not hold dual citizenship.

thank you

Are u a LPR and have green card or AP

u would need a legal signed by him document to take child out of the country

If your child is traveling alone, with only one parent, or with a non-legal guardian, they will require a Child Travel Consent signed by both parents or legal guardians. A Child Travel Consent is sometimes called a letter of permission to travel.Jun 21, 2022

The Philippines doesn't have any special requirements for foreign children traveling with a parent.  As a general rule, any time traveling internationally as one parent with a child, it is wise to carry a notarized letter of consent to international travel from the other parent and also the child's birth certificate.  Although my wife has traveled in and out of the Philippines, the US, and about a dozen other countries with her daughter and never actually been asked for such proof.  They have different surnames as well but it's never been an issue.  But, it's still wise to carry a notarized letter and the birth certificate just it in case someone ever does ask.

If you are both US Citizens you can go down to a BI office before your stay expires and just pay to extend your visas beyond a month .  It's not a "penalty" for an overstay.  It's just a visa extension fee.

Are you USC? I am USC, divorced from the father of my daughter (no communication even), been traveling back/forth  (me and daughter) since  she was a baby - and never was I asked info from the father.  And do have different last name from my daughter.   I am a former Filipino, so I claim Balikbayan privileges at immigration to be given 1 year rather than 30 days.  But if I do get 30 days, extension can be applied for through Bureau of Immigration, i believe.
