NVC Delays

Hello everyone,

Please help me if you have any resources or answers to my question.  My fiance's visa petition was approved by USCIS 72 days ago. However, I have not received anything from National Visa Center on the following step  (i.e., the Welcome letter and the instruction). The NVC website timeframe section said they are creating Nov 8, 2022, received cases. But NVC received my case on Nov 1, 2022. So my USCIS approval notice has an expiration date (02/28/23). Since I have not received anything now, I am concerned that I won't be able to do anything since the deadline is getting closer. Do you guys know if USCIS or NVS will extend the date on the approval notice? Do delays happen in your case? Any help is appreciated.

Was your case approved on November 1st or received on November 1st? They will automatically extend the approval date so there is no need to worry.

Your NOA2 (I-129F approval by USCIS) was on Nov 1, 2022?

NOA2 and "NVC received" dates are two different things. There is usually one month gap between NOA2 and NVC received dates. (I don't understand why it takes so long for them to mail a single file)

So your file was probably received early December. But you are probably in that limbo where your file was received but the NVC case number hasn't been created yet.

In my understanding, it currently is taking about two additional months for them to create the case number and hand over the file to the Embassy.

So I would wait until early Feb to start worrying about being behind the NVC website timeframe.

Of course you can ask NVC research email whether they have received your file correctly in the meantime.

 Hey guys,

Thanks for your feedback. The USCIS approval is dated Nov 1, 2022. Hoverer, I don't know what day NVC received the case. But I know for sure as of December 2022, my case was received by NVC. It's a nightmare in this extended waiting limbo state. I hope they create my case by early February. I already wrote NVC several times, and their responses are generic that they recieve my case but have not created it yet.

Thanks again,

Garik

Hello everyone,

I am confused and concerned about what's going on with the K1 visa petition. USCIS approved my case on November 1, 2022. They sent my case to National Visa Center (NVC). NVC should have processed the case by now. Instead, NVC replied to my inquiry this today.

" Dear Sir/Madam:

The correct case number is YRV***********.

We returned immigrant visa petition YRV************* to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). If you have more questions about this case, please contact USCIS.

USCIS CONTACT INFORMATION:

USCIS Receipt Number: WAC*************

Telephone: 1-800-375-5283

Website: https://uscis.gov. "

Does anyone know why this would happen and what will be the next step?

My USCIS approval notice has an expiration date (of Feb 28, 2023). Do you know if USCIS is going to extend the approval notice?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Garik

NVC could have found an administrative error on the I-129F.  If so, it will likely go back to NVC soon. That has happened before.

USCIS told me it would take up to 180 days to review the case once it received it from NVC. I hope way sooner, like you said

Do you know how they are going to extend the approval notice?

You started 2 threads on the same /similar/related topic. To reduce confusion, the moderator has put the 2 threads into one.  Good idea to keep it all together

Hello everyone, I was able to check my status on NVC site and this is what I got:

"Your petition has been returned to USCIS for administrative action and is no longer at the NVC. Further inquiries should be directed to the USCIS by telephone at 1-800-375 5283, or via the internet at www.uscis.gov."

Any Idea what's going on? what's the next step? how long more I need to wait?

Thanks,

Garik

I looked up my case via NVC, and it said that.

"Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at: http://nvc.state.gov/interview

For more information, please visit TRAVEL.STATE.GOV.

Does anyone know what the next step is? I completed my DS-160 form a few weeks ago, yet I have not received any Formal Welcome letter. Do you know when I would be able to schedule for Embassy interview?

Thank you!
