Petition sent by NVC to the wrong embassy!

After 10+ weeks waiting for information after our NOA2 was approved, we finally received an email that our petition was being sent to the embassy, only they are sending it to Guangzhou, China instead of Paris, France, where we wrote down in our application. We both used to live in China, and sent in the application in China, but had written French addresses on our application and specifically wrote Paris, France in 62a and 62b.

We have reached out to the NVC email notifying them of their mistake. Has anyone had this happen to them? We are worried that this will delay our process even further.

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

When you moved you could have informed NVC to send the legion to new address. Now you will have to contact the embassy where you are currently at to request for your petition to be sent to them. It will take long though. I also moved form one country to another and the moment we received our NOA2 we sent a request to NVC to send our petition to the country am currently living in and the did that.

You're right, in hindsight we should have done that. But we listed the correct address in the 'address abroad' fields and listed Paris as the embassy we wanted to apply for the visa abroad. We thought this was enough.. this entire process is supremely confusing, we had no idea they were just going to send it to the last listed address.

So our best best is to contact the Paris Embassy and let them know we need to transfer from Guangzhou to Paris?

Yes.  Contact the Paris consulate and request a transfer to them.

After this, they will notify Guangzhou embassy that the file needs to be sent to them or we need to discuss with Guangzhou as well?

I would contact both.
