Hi everyone !!

It has been 12 days and I have still not received my RFIE letter. On Dec 28th and received an email from USCIS saying that they have sent me an RFIE but its been 12 days already and I have no received anything yet. I called the hotline of USCIS but they said that they wil only talk to my husband who is the petitioner. We will try again tomorrow. Any tips on how we should approach this problem ?

Thanks.

Did you file online?? You should have a https://myaccount.uscis.gov/ account that can access your account files.

If this is for naturalization you can go to the My account USCIS web site and go to document tab and download the RFIE letter.

Looks like you did not provide the evidence needed for the n400 filing.

Hello da95826 !!!

Thanks for your prompt and quick reply. Yes this is for naturalization . I am the beneficiary and my husband is the petitioner. My lawyer filed all our papers. He said that he sent all my documentation via postal service. I did open my myuscis.gov account. Under my I130A section they have uploaded the copies of the documents we sent them (example the birth cert, marriage cert , the form etc) however it does not have any RFIE letter in it! :(

Am I missing something ?

For N-400, you should have petitioned yourself. Are you sure you're talking about naturalization and not something else such as AOS?

Sorry. I m not familiar with these jargons and acronyms. I am talking about Adjustment of Status. I got married to a US citizen and we have started the AOS process. So basically an RFIE was issued but I have not received the letter yet and it has been 14 days. What can I do ?

The RFE would go to lawyers office as they applied for AOS. Contact them and they get it they will forward it to you.

My lawyer does not have it :(. My lawyer is aware of my situation but he is only asking me to re apply for another letter. But I feel there are many more things that can be done like I hear people calling customer service and requesting for the letter to be emailed. If any one has a tip or knows something that worked for them that will be very helpful.

Thank you.

You seem confused.  Are you adjusting status or naturalizing?  Big difference.  We can't help you as well if you don't understand your own case or process.  Please try to explain it properly.

Well you said it was for naturalization, which is different from AOS.

12 days is not a lot, particularly since there were some holidays and non-business days in there.

And yes, as the petitioner, the case is your husband's, so he should be the one to inquire with USCIS.

Hi Guys!!

So I have an update !! I just checked my USCIS portal and today a new tab popped up called 'Processing Time' which said 6 months. Does this mean I have 6 months to reply to the RFIE letter?

I still have NOT received any RFIE letter in my mail or the portal !

If anyone knows the answer to what this 'Process Time' is referring to?

Thanks.
