Hello Visa Journey family & friends,

On our IR 1 VISA NVC Has TWICE rejected my wife"s  birth certificate and our marriage certificate , I am so confused as to why. I am the petitioner and live in California and my wife is in Colombia, we submitted both our original Colombian Marriage Certificate & her Birth certificate and had them also translated to English, notorized in California. Since this has happened to us twice I'm thinking the docs need to be translated to english notarized apostille done IN Colombia.

This is so frustrating and could use some wise advise.

thank you all and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The specific requirements for Colombia are here.

Is the following note relevant as it might be a common issue???

Comments: When scanning  Birth, Marriage, Divorce, or Death Certificates, make sure to include scans of the front and back of your civil documents, even if the back is blank. This is to ensure that the information on the back is submitted.

Translations don't need notarized or apostille anywhere, just a self certification from whoever translated them.

Maybe, but certainly important to read and understand the message.
