Hello,

In filling out Form I-485 the document requires a signature. I have taken my husbands last night since marriage, should I put my maiden name or surname taken after marriage when filling out the signature portion at the end of the document?

Thank you for any help!

What name do you want the green card to be in? Married or maiden name?

Married name

This is fine then.

1. if you don’t change your passport, you will need to book international flights in your passport name.

2. If your signature currently is readable and has both your first and surname it is a good idea to sign with your married name. Otherwise you are free to use your current signature.
